Mayonna Creek is not a place I would normally recommend - the food is c*** and the kitchen is filthy - I'm such a snob.
However, I went along last Sunday night just for a drink and to listen to the Sunday night jam session.
Well - it was one of the best nights I've had in Goa in years - thanks to a young guy called Chris Simmons.
This young lad is phenomenal, he plays guitar like a "pro" and his singing was fantastic. He had the place jumping with his repertoire of songs from Coldplay, Snow Patrol, REM, The Killers, Paul Weller & The Jam etc. He actually made the regulars like "Jimmy & Friends" who had to follow him, look a bit passé and jaded.
If you are in Goa right now - get along there on Sunday night - the music starts about 8.30 pm.
do you know if he is playing tonight again?? if so will definitely make an effort to go

That sounds great. Do you know how long he's there? Last couple of times we went it was disappointing.
Can't say if he is on this week - be worth going to check it out though.
Last year we had one of our best evenings ever here with 'Dr Allen and his friends from England' which turned out to contain the Irish singer Susie Ingram and perenial hippy Prana Ji - also a french lady whose name I didn't catch.
I want to catch Bluesmania too whom I think also plays on a sunday night? Thank goodness there are two Sundays whilst we are there...
Where is Mayonna Creek Max? Ive yet to find Jambalya too where Bluesmania plays
I can reply to the first part Roxey. Cross the Baga Bridge and turn right... It's about 50 yards on the left heading towards Arpora. We found the food 'OK' and the entertainment excellent!

roxey.if your coming from Calangute direction, go past Beach on the right ,Past the big Newtons on the left then on the right, Mango grove and Jambalya ,. Bending bamboos is opposite.
Split, I must have walked past Jambalya at least a 100 times and never noticed!!!!, another place I will definitely be looking out for come November
Thanks both.

Hi Roxey, sunday night at mayonna creek is a must, great music and a great place for people watching,we also saw bluesmania a good few times he`s a really nice guy and makes everyone really welcome
Hoping to spent the first Sunday at Mayonna's and the second one seeing Bluesmania
But are we going to turn up at one or t'other and find it closed???
Does anyone know if there has been music at either market recently?
Bluesmania's last gig at Jambalya's is this Sunday - which just leaves the question of Mayonna's?
