Yes, a lot of people use the Rhodes day trips to renew their visas if they're staying in Turkey longer than the 90-day visa limit. I don't think they're all that expensive.

Marmaris to Rhodes is about 60 minutes by fast catamaran. Same day return tickets are approximately 35 euro for an adult with a 15 euro port tax, so 50 euros in total, 17.5 + 15 euro for a child. You'll pay slightly more if you book through your tour operator.
