I am going to the Hotel Bali in July, and I am looking for things to do whilst we are there.
Whenever we go on holiday we like to go on a few day trips. In Majorca we found a local travel agent who booked trips for us, at half the costs of the same trips Thomson would charge us for.
Does anyone know what trips Thomson offers and what they charge. There is 2 adults and 1 12year old going.
Thanks
N
It's slow, so have patience to let it load......
Before you book with Thomson in resort check out the travel agents across the road from the Bali they do most of the trips and are reasonable prices. We went to Gibratar with them and they were excellent value for money.
Worth checking out, if only for price comparisons (and a drink in decent surroundings). My dad's been on a few and enjoyed them.
We did go to this hotel 13 years ago, and we booked a trip to Gibraltar via the small travel agent over the road from the Bali, so I am glad to hear that they are still there. As for Bonanza Square, I shall definatley take a look at this as well.
Looking at the costs, we are now considering hiring a car before we go.
To find O'Driscolls go down the hill from the Bali and turn right. Walk along the main road and the bar is on the right between the Mini Golf and Windmills roundabout.
I've enjoyed trips with them and highly recommend them
shop across road is andalucia tours.very nice chap runs it.i had a great trip to gibraltar last year.so funny the tour guide was.8.50 for shopping only or 21.50 for full visit (tour of gib ect).get a bus to mijas thats a nice trip out.white village only up the road.down the hill turn left busstop.forgot number of bus now.but ask at hotel they will tell you.
21.50 for Gibraltar is really good, especially as Thomsons are quoting £57. I am so glad sanji gave me the link to the Thomson trips.
Why not just get the bus to La Linia to visit Gibraltar and walk 200 yards to the border.
Thank you to everyone who has given me the ideas and places to book. Please keep them coming!!
plus the rep on bus will give you tips on money, don;t forget there are 3 currencies.pound/gib/euro
you pay double commission, what you do is get the info out of the bar owner of where is nice to visit, drink his 1 euro beer(dont eat there as the kitchen has not been inspected for years) then book elsewhere
hope this helps
by the way i have been banned from 2 other costa del sol websites for giving this type of advice as they dont like to hear the truth so i would read this quick

Edit to remove unfriendly comment.
This link should help regarding day excursions.
sevilla/cordoba/marrocca tanger/countryside./nerja/frigiliana.just afew of the trips the shop across road does.and i do have prices from two years ago as well.why pay more when its the same thing anyway.all they are doing is taking commission.
I have never been to the bus station, where about is it? If it is within walking distance, I will definately look into that option as well.
ronda + puerto banus-21,50/28.00
sevilla-32.50/39.50
cordoba-31.50/38.50
gib 8.50 shopping tout 21,50
marrocco tanger-42.00
gib dolphins-27.00
nerja/frigiliana-13.50 no cave with 17.00
countryside tour-21,00
might be a bit more now.these trips go on funny days so do check.they don;t go everyday so book early.
i loved the gib trip.leaves around 8.30 am picks a few up on the way down.but goes past some nice places for which the guide tells you all about.think we left around 4pm ish.
not sure about bus station?.bus picks you up outside hotel
Thank you for letting me have these. They are certainly cheaper than Thomson are offering. The gibraltar one is very reasonable.
Does anyone know how you can get to Tivoli World if you do not have a car? We went a few years back, and had a right laugh, and we would like to go again.
N
You can walk it from the Bali to Tivoli World in about 20 minutes or hop in a taxi for about €6 each way.
