Before you book with Thomson in resort check out the travel agents across the road from the Bali they do most of the trips and are reasonable prices. We went to Gibratar with them and they were excellent value for money.

Legends Bar in Bonanza Square, a few minutes uphill from the Bali, runs trips to Gib, the Lakes, Malaga football games etc, as I'm, sure, do other bars in the area.
Worth checking out, if only for price comparisons (and a drink in decent surroundings). My dad's been on a few and enjoyed them.

Thank you for posting the link Sanji. I have taken a look and cannot believe the prices they are quoting.

We did go to this hotel 13 years ago, and we booked a trip to Gibraltar via the small travel agent over the road from the Bali, so I am glad to hear that they are still there. As for Bonanza Square, I shall definatley take a look at this as well.

Looking at the costs, we are now considering hiring a car before we go.

Why not visit O'Driscolls Bar on the main N340 road near to the "Windmills Roundabout". They run a number of tours with meals included at a fraction of the price charged by the holiday companies. They'll also tailor trips to suit your specific needs. Run by John who has been on the CDS for years his intimate knowledge of Andalucia and personal touches make for enjoyable experiences.

To find O'Driscolls go down the hill from the Bali and turn right. Walk along the main road and the bar is on the right between the Mini Golf and Windmills roundabout.

I've enjoyed trips with them and highly recommend them :tup

djwoody - we stayed at the Bali 13 years ago, and we used the travel agent over the road. I did not know if it was still there or not.
21.50 for Gibraltar is really good, especially as Thomsons are quoting £57. I am so glad sanji gave me the link to the Thomson trips.

Why not just get the bus to La Linia to visit Gibraltar and walk 200 yards to the border.

Thanks for telling me Edwin. I shall have to search the web and get the details.

Thank you to everyone who has given me the ideas and places to book. Please keep them coming!! :)

for 8.50 or might be a little more now.why walk across when you can get the tour bus,and be given all the info you need about the resorts on the way down.its a right laugh if you get the right rep.plus you get a seat.take a warm jacket as the rock can be cold sometimes.

plus the rep on bus will give you tips on money, don;t forget there are 3 currencies.pound/gib/euro

have a stroll around, look at the agents that advertise prices, choose one that is good for you, never ever go to a bar for trips
you pay double commission, what you do is get the info out of the bar owner of where is nice to visit, drink his 1 euro beer(dont eat there as the kitchen has not been inspected for years) then book elsewhere
hope this helps
by the way i have been banned from 2 other costa del sol websites for giving this type of advice as they dont like to hear the truth so i would read this quick

If you have the prices from a couple of years ago, can you let me know a few of them? Even though they are 2 years old, it will give us a few ideas.

I have never been to the bus station, where about is it? If it is within walking distance, I will definately look into that option as well.

Hi DJWoody

Thank you for letting me have these. They are certainly cheaper than Thomson are offering. The gibraltar one is very reasonable.

Does anyone know how you can get to Tivoli World if you do not have a car? We went a few years back, and had a right laugh, and we would like to go again.

N

You can walk it from the Bali to Tivoli World in about 20 minutes or hop in a taxi for about €6 each way.
