Hi all, I'm off to Paphos next week for a wedding and I'm wondering if it is worth taking my snorkelling gear. Does anyone know what the snorkelling/visibility/sites/currents are like at Paphos. Any tips for good sites in walking distance or a bus ride from Paphos??
Thank you
Welcome onboard
It's always worth taking your equipment! Snorkelling around the coastline in Paphos isn't brilliant to be honest. With limited access to the water due to the rocky nature of the coastline, it's not easy in many places. When you're in the water, the snorkelling is easy but depending on the weather conditions, visibility can vary from 5-10m to less than 1m. Fish life is limited to the usual Mediterranean inshore species so if you really want to snorkel, you'll find something to look at but it's not the best place in the world.

If you manage to get over to Polis there's some good snorkelling around the Baths of Aphrodite area. Generally very good visibility as it's a lot more sheltered.
Generally though the other end of the island is better for snorkelling, especially around Cape Greko
