you get to the water on all of them by pontoon
some drop off into water a few metres deep some are up to 15 metres deep
the fish are amazing and not scared of humans just remember there is a large fine for walking on coral in Sharm and if you damage it €3000 is not uncommon
http://www.goredsea.com/en_gomaps+1-0-redseatravelguide.aspx will show you which hotels are beach front just click on the towns you are interested in
Why just stick to snorkelling get diving
Check out the hotel reviews so you can read what others say..the premium rooms are the best to book for as you get full sea view and lovely balcony plus terrace

If you like excellent coral reefs, sandy beaches and peace and quiet then it has to be Nuweiba. The big advantage with Nuweiba is that is that you will not be jostling with other divers and snorkellers... Sharm is a dive and snorkelling factory. Also, the beaches in Nuweiba are generally speaking far superior to those at Sharm.
