Helen, like you we love our tea. A mini travel kettle is a MUST. I've even drunk the tea black! You can get used to it, but forget the silly plastic cups. We've got two small china mugs, I think they're for coffee, but they're just the right size! A cuppa first thing in the morning, and one about 4'ish on the balcony after a hard day's sunbathing. Ahhhh!Nectar! :)

I know what you mean about the taste of tea in plastic mugs, cricketwatcher (although melamine type plastic is OK, much better than soft plastic)
a couple of years ago I got some china mugs in Asda for 19p each...
left them behind after the holiday ;)

jut returned from Zakynthos and Yes our travel kettle came to and had a holiday as it was only the second time in 8 yrs we had a kettle in our room [with bottled water, tea, coffee, sugar and milk tubs] we also take a couple of mugs and spoons [pyrex type as they are easy to keep clean]
these items never come out of the case from one trip to the next, ye we have been in establishments where the use is frowned upon so we keep it in a cupboard when not in use,

I very rarely drink tea or coffee at home (have the odd cup in work) but I do like a cup of tea in the morning on holiday.

My mum always takes a travel kettle and some Tetley tea bags however I'm not to fussed if I don't get one in the morning.

Regarding tea. If you go to Poundland, they do a box of Tetley's 1 cup, 100 bags for a quid! They are strong enough brewing to go 2 cups per teabag.

Sorry to sound dim but do I really need a travel kettle or can I take the one from home?

We go to Majorca in a few weeks time and I suggested to the hubby that we would need to get a travel kettle due to us having a 5 month old baby and needing to make bottles (AI) Travel kettles seem so small and we usually make about 4 bottles of milk in advance and store them in the fridge. Hubby was saying that we could take the one from home as that is big enough. Can we? I thought it was all to do with voltage etc?

I would buy a cheap normal size one from one of the big supermarkets £4.59 I paid for a asda value one and they dont weigh much, I just left it when we left, going to do the same next time too ;)

You can take a normal size kettle , its just that it weighs a bit more and takes up a bit more room.

And don't forget you'll need an adapter too.
Your cheap kettle will have a 3 pin plug, you need to convert that into a 2 pin plug for Spain, the adapters are cheap enough to buy.

Any kettle bought in the UK will have a 3 pin plug, even my travel kettle has one. So an adapter is no real issue.

Thanks for the replies, I'll be packing our kettle then.

We have plenty of travel adapters so no worries with them.
