Michael O'Leary goes into a Dublin pub and asks for a pint of Guinness.
"That will be one Euro, please," says the barman.
"That's a very fair price," replies O'Leary.
"Would you like a glass with that, sir?" asks the barman
Ryanair fined £2.5m over ash-cloud (non) help:-
Many thanks!
PS Loved the joke TFS1, AND the news that FR have been brought to task by the Italian Government. Now who's next ...
In regards to Ash cloud, i booked my outbound and inbound flights to Gran Canaria seperately, what happens if my outbound flight is cancelled, will i lose all the money i paid for the inbound as on seperate booking references?
As you have two different reference numbers, each relating to a different flight, I would think that you would need to claim for each cancelled leg separately, under each reference number and stating that they are for one way tickets. If your outbound leg is cancelled, you may be able to rebook it and still use the inbound as planned. I hope that the ash cloud disperses before your travel date.
So do i , i dont even mind if i get to rebook for following day or day after, just hate to think i would lose the money i paid for inccoming flight if outgoing doesnt get rebooked.
Had a little nosey through the pages but I have a few questions so I'm sorry if they've already been answered and I've missed them.
Myself and my 2 children aged 8 and 4 are flying to Tenerife from Prestwick airport with Ryanair.
I have heard about the mad scrum at boarding and wondered if it's worth my while paying for priority boarding as I've also read that people just jump this queue anyway?I don't want to be seperated from the kids although I don't mind if one is across the aisle or directly behind.
I am taking one item of hold luggage, how early do I need to be at the airport to drop it off?I'm planning on being there 2 hours early but I can go earlier.
I came back from Tenerife 2 weeks ago flying with TC but I never noticed a bag drop there or anything for Ryanair, granted I wasn't looking but does anyone have any idea where it is?
I've read different stories about how Ryanair operate at different airports, some are great, some are hopeless.
I understand you get what you pay for but I just want to be prepared if that's possible from what I've read
Any help anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated
Also I'm not too clued up on the aircraft they use so could one of the lovely experts on here tell me which one they'd be likely to be using for our flight?
Flight no:FR653 and FR654
Thanks very much xxx
I just checked the aircraft guide,I now know they only operate 737-800's Thanks anyway xxx
You'll get various opinions about priority boarding. If you aren't fussed where you sit on the aircraft, then it may not be worth paying the extra. However if you want a window seat or seats at the front or back, or pretty much gaurantee your party isn't seperated, then you may wish to consider it. Procedures are detailed on Ryanairs website. 2 hours before your flight is due to depart is the recommended check-in time with bags. Ryanair only operate one aircraft type; Boeing 737-800 (winglets). You'll find further aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

Try not to worry too much Leanne. It's always stressful travelling with children anyway and coping with a queue should be a breeze to you .if you have young children i'm fairly certain Ryanair let you board along with the speedy boarders anyway.
Actually our last ryanair flight from Stansted seemed a lot more organsied . A very efficient looking lady actually stood up and said in a loud voice . "right speedy boarders form one line here " and then from the other direction "And all others form one line here" she was very forceful about the "one" line bit . she also requested those with young children line up with the speedy boarders
Sure that wasn't Easyjet - they have 'Speedy Boarders' ?
I tend to put them both in the same basket now as we fly with both .
I still dont think you will have a problem with seating though as the same applies re joining the scrum and those that don't bother getting the seats that are left .
Hehe don't worry about it lynwestie,at least I know what to expect if I fly with easyjet
Easyjet certainly have a 'more spophisticated' boarding policy. With Ryanair it's Priority or not.
Having said that, we have never had a problem getting seats together for 4 of us.
A couple of 'techniques' that might be useful......
If you transfer to the plane on a bus - stay near the doors and you will be at the plane before those sat down.
Check if there are steps at the back of the plane. People seem to have a tendancy to head for the front steps. It's often quicker to board at the back and it seems to be easier to get complete rows there.

whats the best /cheapest way to deal with?? only one letter incorrect
If it is an obvious simple mistake as opposed to a name change, I have read that Ryanair are very good at changing free of charge if you call them up. Use
Thanks for the previous advice.
Just a few more questions if you don't mind
I paid to take 1 item of hold luggage but think I might need to take another with there being 3 of us travelling.
On the manage my booking section on the website it says any changes will apply to all passengers but partial changes can be done by telephone?Does anyone know what number it is you call to do that?Is it the £1 or 10p per min number?
Will this change incur yet another admin charge?
I would take advantage of the 10kg hand baggage but i'm going with an 8 and 4 year old so if it's ok for me to carry their bags onboard I would just make the most of this.Thomas Cook didn't bother when I flew with them last month carrying both mine and my son's carry on bags.I'm just a nervy mum and flyer and want to stick by the rules especially with Ryanair
Also if I phone to add another bag can I add priority boarding for us all too over the phone so it's all paid for in one go?
Thanks again everyone
Hope you have all been enjoying the lovely weather xx
select the first option "Add Bags/Sports/Musical/Infant equipment/Priority boarding" and scroll down to the "add baggage " selection . £15 inbound £15 outbound .
Then just select one of your passengers (any one will do) for 1 piece of hold baggage .
I never book any bags to nearer the time when we can decide more sensibly if we need to or not . No difference in cost and not only that if we ever needed to cancel I would only loose the money for the basic flight cost. you can make alterations fairly close to your departure time .
The only time they charge you those extra fees is if you are making a flight or name change .
Thanks,
I had read it wrong, when it went through to the confirm page,i read 4 bags not counting for the fact they had listed them as inbound and outbound seperately.
Thank God there are people like you to keep me right
Thanks again xx
You are Welcome . It does feel a bit scary the first time you do it . I remember worrying that I was going to wipe out my entire booking but it is very easy really.
Can anyone reassure me that I have completed the online check in properly.I am due to travel on June 8th for 1 week so decided to check in for my outbound journey on line today. When I did so I was also able to check in for the return journey which is more than 15 days away. The boarding passes seem to have printed and have the correct details. Is this standard or should I phone and check with Ryan air that all is OK.Thanks for any replies.
