Hi
Well after the excitement of next year's holiday prices being released I have been checking prices on Thomas Cook's website daily in the hope that they might drop a bit (well a lot really). I know the exact apartments that I want and have done since returning from them in August last year but at the moment they are about £500 more than we paid in 2009.
Was just wondering if anyone has managed to find a price that they are happy with yet?
We are going to have to change our holiday to the Maldives for this year and I was hoping to just move it over to next year however the price has risen by over £1500 for the same holiday
So nothing booked so far but I will have to find something as I dont want to loose my £550 deposit.
I think the prices for next year are quite reasonable. They want the same for Next Easter as I paid this Easter. I've also seen a few good prices for Turkey and Corfu for next August. TBH, I've been very tempted to book 2 weeks in corfu for next August but I'm aprehensive about the way the pound/euro will go. I think I'll wait to hear what people who are visiting Corfu this year have to say about prices of eating ad drinking.
No,but I have booked a 2 week Caribbean cruise for Xmas 2011!
Shirley- im going to corfu in 7 weeks- so will let you know when I come back- Im wondering the exact same thing. Went last october- and it was dirt cheap (think that may have been a lot to do with the season coming to an end)- will be interesting to see how the prices compare to then.
Thanks Belly bally, we were in Corfu for the first week of the season 4 yesrs ago and it wasn't dirt cheap then. we commented how much the prices had risen in the Greek islands. However, everywhere we've been since has been the same so I'm not expecting it to be cheap. Just hoping it won't be extortionate. Thanks, I look forward to hearing about the cost when you return. Have a great holiday!
We booked our holiday to Kos about 2 weeks ago for next May & i have to say i was happy with the price we got from Thomson, i've been checking Thomas Cook also & i don't know if it's just me but i find they are a LOT more expensive than Thomson this year.
I also found Thomas Cook to be more expensive than First Choice this year, I've been looking at Cuba in Jan 2010 but might book it little bit nearer.
It's not the initial cost of the holiday that's putting me off, it's the cost of living once we get there
Not booked yet, but I will be booking the Nissi Beach Resort in Cyprus for 2 weeks next June as my son is getting married there
I just did!!!!! I watched the hotel I fancied in Ibiza jump up £74 in total over bank holiday weekend so I am off to Rhodes while getting that for the original advertised price
Florida next year. Flying with Virgin for same price as our Florida holiday last year which was with Thomas Cook.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong but the last two years I have found Thomsons and in particular First choices prices to be absolutely ridiculous, I do travel peak season though so maybe that makes a difference
2 weeks , First Choice Nissi Beach Resort Cyprus, June 2011 for my son's wedding
We have just booked a 2 week self catering holiday in Ovacik Turkey for just £210 each, going on 11 September.
The same holiday was £345 just a month ago.
I aint even had my 2010 holiday yet..only 4 and a bit weeks to go.
Next year looking at ibiza san antonio ..san servines hotel booking seperate and flight, me and partner fancy a change job permitting my partner though, this year away with the mother and sister ..to my te ole faithful fuengirola.
Turkey again for us next May for two weeks, Club Voyage Belek. Got a great deal by playing ping pong with two travel agants, got prcie knowcked down by £800, yes £800 quid after about four hours haggling.
We have always booked Ibiza through Portland and this year we paid around £600 each for 2 weeks half-board with sea view. This was around the same price as 2009. However, Portland are winding up and Thomson are charging around £750 for the same 2 weeks next year!!! Do I get the feeling that Thomson are just ripping us off by getting rid of Portland? Trouble is, Thomson have sole use of the hotel that I love! I'll wait anyway to see if things improve price-wise.
Just got the flights to book, in about 3 weeks, as doing it DIY
Booked our flights £118 each for 2 weeks June 2011 just doing hotel now brilliant price going to Kemer
