I just tried to look at the managers update , but got error message no. 404.
1. It is not exclusive to Brits as some apparently thought.
2. Everything is not completed construction wise.
3. There is no no-smoking area designated in the dining room.
4. You get 3 pool towels per week (or is it per stay?).
4. People are having their booking cancelled/changed at the convenience/whim of First Choice.
1. It did not actually say exclusive to GB in the brochure so people have to be careful how its worded
2. Its a new hotel i would expect there still to be things to do at this stage
3. Pretty common abroad still
4. Not sure about this maybe its the staff not being briefed properly
4. Possibly due to overbooking within the group e.g Belgium and Germany
I do think and i really hope this doesnt offend anyone but i expect any new build hotel to have problems for at least 8-10 weeks after the said due date, and i really think everyone should know this by now.

Can anyone tell me the dress code for the hotel evening resteraunts?
Is it long pants or can men were 3/4's?
Please reply
Thanks
On another forum it said long pants for men for dinner but it wasn't being totally enforced.
Dont get me wrong thou the 3/4's are very smart and not tacky trackies lol x
Can anyone who has been advise are toiletteries and sun cream etc accessible and reasonable priced in resort?
Or would you buy here? (in UK)
Also
Where the best supermarket is in resort although in AI we like our own comforts too:-)
Where the bus stops are from hotel for Rhodes etc
Whats the weather been like?
IS it chilly at night? (as in canaries and do we need cardies - never been to Greece before - been everywhere else lol)
Are things in general expensive or reasonable with the current politics with the economy?
Any facts and advice in general to add value and enjoyment to our hol would be appreciated
Please reply
Thanks
Someone who is in resort now says he has worn shorts to dinner every night, no issue, no need to wear long trousers if you didn't wish to.
Thanks.I take it that it is Brits exclusive then cos shorts a big no no in international 5 star hotels lol
Not exclusive to brits, personally I think its a shame, I think its better to dress for dinner.
trouble is a 5* resort doesn't mean 5* people!
I am travelling there tomorrow with wife and 2 year old, hope its ok! We stayed in HV Mallorca last year and booked this almost as soon as we got back home.
you will be fine. Most of the problems are getting sorted out and the resort and staff are still very good.
Look forward to hearing from you on your return Krspa9.
Its a shame that the First Choice staff on the phone and in their shops are not aware that it is not exclusive to the Uk as we were told it was. Perhaps some more training would be helpful.
Hopefully they will up date their staff .
It says something like - Exclusive to customers in the UK & only available through First Choice .
This does not mean only UK guests will be there. What it does mean is you cannot book through another operator.
I am still suprised that non brits will be going to HV as usually you see some sign of another nationalities travel reps, language on signs, menus, fire evacuation notices etc.
First Choice are part of TUI group, so you should not be surprised to see non brits. staying.
http://www.jetair.be/vliegvakanties/Griekenland/Rhodos/Kolymbia/zomer/hotel/13049/hotel-Holiday-Village-Rhodos.htm , the point i was trying to make was that i thought it was strange for a 5* resort that is going to be used by Belgians and others it was very anglo centric with nothing at all for other language speakers, which you get elsewhere.
edit- just seen on another forum that a european rep has been seen.
I know they are all under the same group but there are many other TUI hotels nearby as you know and on the Jetair website they are still using pictures from the Atlantica Agean park edit- just seen on another forum that a european rep has been seen.
Anyone know why people are being cancelled that booked last august for this august (myself included I booked last august and got a good price) yet on the First Choice website you can still book for those dates which First Choice have said are "fully booked"? you can book for those dates at inflated prices (approx £1.5 to £2k higher than what they were if you booked august 2009). I notified First Choice 8 days ago and was told that these people would be cancelled when they were due to pay their balance, but I am not so sure all sounds a bit fishy to me. I think its time to take some advice on this.
