Hi Donna!!! I don't know the villa personally, but I do know the area around it. It is quite a way out of PDC, but a very nice area. It is near to Montaña Tropical which is a small centre with a supermarket and a very few bars/restaurants. It is a long walk to the nearest beach, which is all downhill, but the walk back up with small children and all their paraphernalia would be a challenge :) If you are wanting a mainly villa based holiday, then it looks lovely :cheers

many thanks :)

yes we would be mainly villa based with trips to the beach via car (due to said paraphernalia ) and excersions out for lunch and into old town for lunch.

between the 2 families we have 4 small children aged 6months , 1, 2, and 3 so we think this set-up would be fine for us

we are planning on a LOT of pool time :)

Hi again Donna. I read some more about the villa, after you said you will be spending a lot of time in the pool! It surprises me to read that there is no pool cover, and even states that most pools don't have covers :think That, in my experience, is untrue!! Most villas with heated pools do have covers, which they ask clients to put on the pools during the night to conserve the heat. It makes no sense to be heating a pool only for the night air to cool it down again - would cost a fortune!!!!

You might like to ask exactly how the pool is heated, and what temperature they are heating it to!!!! After all 3-5 degrees higher than the mean sea temperature, could still be very cold!!!!

i see your point! it syas it is heated with a pool heat pump and it gets warm by 1pm

looks like a chilly dip in the morning :yikes

all they can tell me is that it will be 3 degrees warmer than weather temperature

so if it is 20 degrees in the afternoon it will be 23 deg in pool!

the pool heater is only designed to take the chill out of the water apparently

just heated some water to 23deg and had a feel with my hand and it is acceptable

i am also going to take a paddling pool to fill with warm water for the kids to splash about and play with

thanks for pointing this out, at least we are prepared!!

i guess the water parks will be warmer, are there any good ones in the area?

Oh well :que still really not understanding their take on pool temperature!!! Normally, if people have calorex heaters they are set to a certain temperature, and cut off when they reach that. They are not dependent on air temp!!!

There is a water park in Costa Teguise, not sure whether it is open during the time you are there? Someone else might know?

i know what you are saying, they have said if we are not happy with the pool temp while we are out there then call the rep who will get it checked but i suspect that not much will be done once we are installed

my friends who are joining us said that when they were out there in december their pool wasn't covered and it was warm enough for the kids so that has put my mind at rest.

many thanks for your help :)
