We returned from the Holiday Village last night and had fantastic time. Hotel really good. Could not fault it. Our son enjoyed the activities and the high ropes and zip wire. But be warned.. just before we came home a letter was sent to the rooms saying there is going to be a charge to go on the zip wire due to the high demand, people booking for it and not turning up meaning somebody else could have taken the place. The charge is £3 per go or £5 for two go's. This facility requires a number of staff to run it, but surely they cannot do this as in the brochures its part of the all inc package.

hi ive just got back from hv was there for 14 days lovely place but we all got the bug lol harry the red sea cruise was fantastic so was the siani by starlight i did the cairo trip to the pyramids were fantastic will post a review later to what i thought of the place

hi joklus the food is like anywere else that alliclusive its quite repetitive loads of chips rice different kinds of meat veg salad the omelettes at breakfast are really nice the bacon iisnt like our bacon its called beef bacon n its like round slices of meat didnt care for that or there sausages especially the chicken one yuk the sea bass is lovely tho the ala carte restaurants the med is the best i thought followed by the indian wasnt keen on there chinese ala carte tho there is only one popcorn machine next to the swim up bar and one icecream near the ala carte restaurants some delicious puds tho

Been hearing lots of horrors stories of tummy upset, ear infections, etc at this is hotel!! I know with the heat we have to careful especially with our small children. Lots of water, hand sanitizers etc. I have stocked up on everything, calpol, immodium etc. Can anyone comment on their experiences of illnesses while at the HV?? I know there is a Doc on site? Is he ridiculously expensive? Also what about the chemsists??? I know it is not school holidays in the UK - will the hotel be relatively quiet???? Many thanks

This is our 3rd time to Egypt (2nd to HV) & have NEVER had any problems with illnessess etc. One of my sons is anaphylactic, so we have to be extra careful & he has been fine every time....

It's a huge complex, but when we went in the holidays last October, it didn't seem too crowded at all. You didn't have many queues & you could get sunbeds easily.....

If you are careful & drink plenty of water - then you shouldn't have any problems.....

hi dunno bout that stix we drank lots of water n still all got the bug and its not nice egypt is a lovely place but the bugs are dreadful and bobi i stocked up on everything hand sanitiziers the lot immodium doesnt work over there so no point in taking it the chemist is really good outside the complex but not cheap either 18 quid for one of us to be treated lol

hi jokluz no snacks in the evening just your meals snacks in day at the medertarrian restuarant and on beach at lemer and near quiet pool they do rolls they do cakes at 4oclock up near buffet restaurant n icecream from 11 till 4 and popcorn from 11 to but thats it

Don't get too concerned about all you read. We were there during the first 2 weeks of August, and heard no mention of ear infections. The problem affecting most people was Egyptian Tummy but, certainly for my son, this was due to the heat and dehydration. He was ill for 2 days after spending all day snorkelling off a boat at Ras Mohammed. He had no protection on his head for most of the day, and certainly didn't drink enough (same as at home). The rest of us were fine the whole 2 weeks.
Personally I thought the biggest issue was the heat. It was over 50 during the day, not like anything we'd experienced in years of holidays to Spain. Whilst hand gel and plenty of water are a must, ice cold water and a very warm stomach don't mix well. Warm stomachs don't like freezing aircon either. We drank cool, not cold water, and only used the aircon when we were out in the evenings, turning it off at bedtime - it was very noisy anyway. It helped that our room didn't get any direct sun, so wasn't as hot as it might've been.
Be careful of the alcohol too. We started off in usual holiday style - a few drinks at the evening entertainment followed by a few more on the balcony when the kids were asleep. We soon realised this wasn't going to work, and cut back. It also helped us get up for the sunbed grand prix!
We didn't use the Doctor, the chemist outside the entrance was fine although some said he was expensive. Don't bother with immodium, get the local stuff.
