I never ate cereals, to busy stuffing my face with omlettes :tongue

I think if i remember right they have rice crispies or their version, coco pops type of thing and porridge. Sometimes corn flakes. Plenty of choice to choose from.

Just another quickie .........

Going to buy some wine at the airport before we leave. (so we can have a drinky poos whilst we get ready of an evening :cheers )

Can someone advise whether there is a fridge available in the rooms (staying in rooms near blue wave)

Thanks ;)

There are fridges in every room, but its a mini bar. What we do is take there stuff out, and put ours in :tongue Its not very big x

We had a fridge that was empty, mind you somebody did barge at 7am in on our last morning to check it even though we told him it was empty :que

Thats good to know - cant stand warm wine!

Will a full bottle of wine fit in this fridge at all? Last mini fridge we had only fitted the small quarter bottles :think

To be honest i dont know. I know if we took out all the mini bar drinks we could fit in large water, so maybe you can. Maybe you could get away with one, and leave the rest in yiur room, may have to be tilted though.

Many thanks Michelle xxxx

Just a week left before I go now. I think I need to start thinking about packing (thats the bit I hate!)

As Im only going for a week, we are not intending to do any long haul trips, we have decided not to purchase visas

we are planning

Tiran Island
Quad Biking
Monastery
Submarine (as my hubby & son are not swimmers so it would be a good opportunity to see the underwater life)

Do you think thats a good itinerary? - any other suggestions?

Also, does the resort have a grounds map at all that I can show to my son - I like to go through it with him so he knows where everything is if he toddles off. Ive done this on previous holidays and its been quite useful

Yes you get a ground map when you arrive to show you where everything is.

Please remember to go up on top of the Oonas dive club adjacent to the hotel near the beach. Your lad will like the panoramic views of all over the bay, at the sonesta there is a small terrace near the bank, but be warned it is not part of your all inclusive deal.

Pedaloes are also a good way of seeing the fish, there are huge, you can jump off and snorkle in the shallow parts or even buy a lilo to lay across so you feel safer, but remember your goggles and certainly your sea-shoes. The coral will cut your feet. If you havent got any, dont dispair they have loads at the hotels shops or across the road at the 7/11 supermarket.

I recommend the ultimate quad adventure, but with thomson its only singles, no double quads allowed. This is the mother of all adventures and a great show and bar-b-q and free shishas after.

I think you have to be 16 to ride them though. There are the sand buggies if your son is under age.

Check with your travel insurance before you go on quads as some will not insure you if the quad is over a certain limit.

The itinerary you have is good, but at the welcome meeting you will have more opportunity to see others you might be interested in ;)

Hi we are going the Sonesta Beach In May next year for my 40th, been to Sharm a few times but not SB, could you please advise on the best rooms to request, pref pool view, quiet area, but large and modern, the new rooms? Also is ther any options to upgrade your rooms? I'm quite fussy regarding getting a good room!
Many thanks.
Mick. :)

Hi there and welcome to the sonesta beach forum :cheers

Quiet area definitely the cactus pool area, very large rooms, spacious and cool has everything in it you need and mostly a pool view.

If a brand new room is more your style then you need to email the sonesta beach resort (mohammed Said) and request the "LE ROYALE room", you have your own pool to share with other Royale guests and thats all, no other privileges. Everything else on A1 is shared with Sonesta beach guests, you get a different wrist band colour. The room prices for Le Royale per person per night are 35 euro.

Another alternative is the Executive rooms, i have no idea how much they cost but are spacious, clean, a whirl pool bath, separate toilet to the bathroom and is 10 secs from the beach. We get upgraded for nowt as repeated guests for the 9th time. Huge big drapes, and 7 ft bed. Very nice and cool, right in the centre of things. Again email Mohammed Said, and he will get back to you i am sure.

Hope this helps :cheers

Flight leaves at 2pm tomorrow - I actually hear it was raining in Sharm yesterday and today - very slightly! So typical the british weather has also taken a holiday to Sharm! :duh

But the 7 day forecast looks good - so Im happy.

Thank you all for your most useful tips and advice about staying at Sonesta Beach and Sharm in general. I'll be back in no time to tell you what we thought.

Special thanks to our Sonesta Beach Resort Queen Michelle - you've been a great source of info.

My yearly holiday to the Sonesta beach is nearly upon me, yep the 15th November for two weeks :clap

I booked my holiday through my usual broker with Thomsons.

The other day hubby said it would be nice to go for 3 weeks and i said we had been through all this and thomson do not do 3 weeks. All we wanted to do was add on an extra week and cancel flight coming back !

Anyway went to my TA she told it would cost £2,000 more for one week actually £3,000 in all as Thomson wanted to cancel my original holiday and re book it as three weeks. Since that time i decided team sonesta had to get together and sort this, as if we are paying that !!!

I came home, looked through cheap flights from Sharm to EMA, some i never heard of so surprise surprise, i booked the last available flight on the 6th December for 2 adults, yep you guessed it, with Thomson !!!.
I knew i couldn't stay at the Sonesta beach as its packed so my next port of call but no contest was to book into the Oonas dive bar hotel literally next door and 10 secs from our executive room at sbr.

We booked a flights back
Extra leg room seats
Got e vouchers through
and b&B at the OONas
Hotel taking us back for our flight to airport
So an extra 7 days in my beloved Country for £500

I have seen the rooms before and their web site looks really good, as i am always there at night with our amazing Egyptian friends, it made sense.

I am sooooooooooo excited at going to my baby for 2 weeks then my other baby for an extra week.

So although i have deflected a little bit ;) its only 10 secs around the corner :D

Just wanted to let you in , in my excitement :hols
