On the form I filled in here in Gemany,I just chose 6 month tourist visa and it didn't give me the option to choose multiple or double entries , So it looks like they deceided for me !
I would have liked to test it out , but although we will be making a second visit , it will be after the two month ruling .

hi hope to travel to goa .
can you fly be fore the date you put on your visa form.
its 2days.my flight in on the 25 but my visa starts on the 27.

You will not be allowed entry into India before the visa valid date so you would have to either change your flight or overnight in another country, for example Bahrain.

As far as I know, the visa is valid from the date of issue, so as long as it issued before the 25th , there should be no problem.

if any one is sending there paperwork to the london office for a visa and need help, get in touch with a guy there called Martin, hes very good he helped me every step of the way with mine, as i was having problems getting mine due to the fact that tho i was born in the north of ireland but had a irish passport and didnt have any bills on my home address to prove i lived here, but did send my birth and marriage cert, it took a bit longer , wont have the same trouble next year as after christmass im going to get a british passport was told i could have two, and before someone asks ... well why didnt u get a british passport before u applyed for visa, i didnt know i could have two passports and it would of takin to long to get it , but ive got the visa now and we are of soon to goa

Does anyone know if you have to have a holiday booked before you apply for your visa? Because of work commitments we will have to book within a short time of going and I would like to have the security of having the visa in case of any problems.

Hi Goadreamer no you don't need to have a holiday booked before you apply for your visa, in fact VFS recommend that you wait until you have your visa before finalising your travel plans.

The visa application form contradicts itself, whereas it advises you not to book anything untill you have your visa, it asks on the application form for 2 referees in India.
If you don't book anything before you apply then for one of your Indian referees you can put the British High Commision/Embassy (you'll have to check up for the address) and for the second referee just put NA (not N/A)

Thank you for your replies but I seem to remember in previous years having to put the address and pin no of our accommodation on the visa form. Is there a way round this?

Why cant you put the address of any hotel, I am pretty sure no one is going to check every hotel to make sure we are all staying were we said we would be.... :think

There's nothing stopping you putting down any hotel, I'm also sure that they're not going to check up on everybody who applies for a visa.

I am sure that they dont check out the address's Ive been putting the same address for years but havnt stayed there for the last 3 years ( dont have the address written down of where we stay) and I just put the same on the form that you fill in for immigration. I am sure there is a list of hotels and their tel and pin numbers near the start of this thread.

Ready to send off my online visa application forms for 4 of us, it states that only 2 processed passports can be returned in 1 Special delivery envelope, (S.D.E.) so what I want to know, is can I send everything in 1 S.D.E. including 2 stamped address S.D.E.for the return of the 4 passports . Hope this makes sense
