uptoncol,

It might be a bit late now, but it's a Boeing 767-300/ER (winglets) that's operating the cruise charter to Barbados, TOM630/1.

MAN-CUN-MAN (TOM144/5) are operated by a former Thomsonfly Boeing 767-300/ER (winglets). The flight before varies, it was a cruise charter last week (TOM797) but I can't see any for this week.

LGW-LRM-LGW (TOM060/1) are operated by a former Thomsonfly Boeing 767-304/ER (winglets / 283 long haul). You'll find further aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

Just wondered why Thomson do not offer online check in?

Cost perhaps?
Its not my area of expertise but Thomson Airways doesn't have the requirement to process passengers faster than it currently does apart from Maybe Gatwick and Manchester in the peak summer months and a few weeks in the run up to christmas. With the redevelopment of Gatwick north, the conjestion will be dealt with at Gatwick Airports expense.

Also, most of TA's customers are not as frequent travellers as the scheduled airlines and would not utilise online check in. Having used Virgin recently from T3 at Heathrow with a vastly more frequent client base(in my opinion) the queue for traditional check in was virtually out the door whilst bag drop was empty, despite Virgin staffs protests to show my fellow travellers how to use the system they would not and decided to queue for anything upto an hour, with some barely making my flight and then ranting at the Cabin Crew about check in.

Had cause to use the day before check in at Manchester recently and although we had to wait a while because no one was manning the desk and a bit of a pain taking the bags to another desk I have to say overall the experience was good.

Online check in must be something they will consider doing soon.

Done online check in several times with Emirates and it works really well.

Hi all,
we are on flight TOM060 leaving on the 23 Jan to La Romana. Told by Thomson when we rang that it was a 2-3-2 config when we prebooked our seats. Any idea where the aircraft is coming from into Gatwick, and also if they change to a 2-4-2, will our window seats be honoured, we booked 32-33 FG.
Thanks. x

racegirl3075,

LGW-LRM-LGW (TOM060/1) are operated by a former Thomsonfly 76W currently. This may change later in the season though. If it does change, seating will be honoured as far as possible but it's inevitable some will change due to the different configuration. The first flight of the winter season operated last Sunday and came in from East Midlands after operating a cruise charter to Barbados (TOM830/1). This will vary weekly though so remind me closer to the time and I'll look again for you.

Hi, we have booked to go with extra legroom seats on Thomson from Manchester to Hurghada on 28th January 2011. We are celebrating a special anniversary and have booked a very nice hotel. We then got a phone call from Thomson head office asking if we would like to upgrade to the extra leg room seats. They were not offered at a cheaper price (another £110 for both of us). I said I would not like to have to sit next to the toilets as I have seen on long haul flights that the extra legroom seats usually were by the loos. The girl on the phone assured me we would not be by the toilets so I agreed to the upgrade.

I have now had the opportunity to select my seats but the only row available was 32. I picked 32A and 32B for the outward and inbound flight. I am not sure which plane is used on this route but I have now got a sinking feeling that I have made a big mistake. I am worried that we are going to be spending over £100 and 6hour plus each way, watching other people go to the toilet.

Has anyone got any knowledge of the type of plane used on this route and and if so, is row 32 next to the loo? I am going to be very upset if this is the case. I would rather sit in cramped seats than be by the toilets. Help!
