i would, as some people do actually arrive on a flight only with a 1 night stay in dorm on their ticket. Last year i only stayed 1 night at the hotel i put down because we didnt like it.The authoritys wouldnt know this.

Just applied for me, the wife, and our son.

Only took me three hours.

Got three different appointment times at Goswell Road despite requesting Victoria. At least they are all on the same day.

Going Friday. Not feeling confident. Will update you all.

Sent our applications off today, having read of some peoples difficulties we are NOT feeling Super Optimistic that everything will go smoothly but fingers crossed. Will let you know how things develop. We had to supply 2 x 2" photos per visa which we got from Max Spiellmans who were super and absoloutely au-fait with the requirements.

Hello everyone...well ronsan are happy.....visas just returned to us by courier literally 5 mins ago. Everything present and correct and now ready to go. The courier actually tried to deliver them on Tuesday 11/01 but no one at home hence todays reciept. So all-in-all not a bad turnaround in that I only went over the Manchester last Wednesday morning - 05/01 - to hand deliver them.

On the no one at home note - we were left at little card by DX Secure to say that they had called and were asked to either phone up to arrange another delivery date or log onto their site with the tracking number given on their calling card (it is different to the one given to me by the manchester visa team) to arrange a more convenient day to call. It was really very simple - if you make the contact before 4pm on the day the card was left you can get next day delivery, if this isnt convenient then you can book a day (they cant do time) when it is. BRILLIANT - are you 'watching ARGOS' lol.

Finally all the fuss over a 2x2 photo - the one reproduced on the visa measures 25mmx25mm so is actually half the origianl size....and its not reproduced squarely in the box on the visa.....perhaps I might send it back to them - NOT.

Well i was doing the dance of Joy this morning as my visa came back. Now im doing a pouty stomp :cry
Visa rejected due to photos. Despite being done at maxspielman and conforming to all specifications as far as i can see. Highlighted background which is white,!!!!! glare on glasses im not wearing any :duh

Now i have to pay for new pics and spec delivery both ways again. Never had a rejected visa app before this is just stupid

I had pics done at max spielman does anyone else have suggestions where i can get them redone

Oh MazD, how annoying and upsetting.

Do you have a Jessops near you?

doesn't it say why they have been rejected?
If not, it's not very helpful.

Are you sure you got the proper size (2" x 2")?

I've read on TA about having to sign the back of one (can't comment on this as we applied before the changes) - did you do this?

There's very specific details on the VFS website about what is and isn't acceptable. Have you checked everything on there?

http://in.vfsglobal.co.uk/touristvisa_photospecs.html

I do remember one guy whose application was rejected, he said that everything was OK and even VFS couldn't say why they had rejected it.

Think i do have a jessops ill have to check Sydney.

Polly the the letter showing why its been rejected mates no sense. I did sign back of one of pics. Im not wearing glasses in pic so how can there be glare on glasess lmao i dunno mate. I guess when i get there i can have a large honeybee and laugh about all of this.
well maybe if i can see the beach for the RP being cut up :rofl

Its just the cost why cant they phone and ask you to send new pics instead of having to pay for 2 x spec delivery again. never mind but if they come back again im gonna scream Xxxx

Should not be a problem getting a passport in person on the day, my passport office does that but you do pay quite a bit more. If you do manage that then all i can suggest is to go to visa application centre in Hayes, take your GBRL number and throw yourself at their mercy.
If worst comes to the worst, not sure about your insurance, by mine covers missed hols because of lost passports.
Reall wishing you good luck, hope all comes up trumps.

so going to Goswell road is no good do you think

I think you'll proably need to sort out your replacement passport first.

As I mentioned on your other thread, the Directgov website says they don't do the 1 day service for lost, stolen or damaged passports.
The quickest option is the 1 week service.

Depending how you get on at the Passport Office, I'd ring VFS (on the number Squigs gave) and explain the situation - before travelling there on spec.

Lots & lots of luck with this.

Hello Everyone

We have just booked our first trip to Goa for November this year, I know we need to get visas but can someone tell me, the six month visa is it six months from date of application or date of departure?

Just wondered when to apply for it have heard its a bit of a nightmare !!

It's from the date you apply, but some people have only been given 3 month visas so make sure you apply in time also allow time for them to be returned because they say there's something incorrect on your application. Have a read through the more recent posts on this topic and you'll see what's happened to some of us.

It is actually from the date it is issued by the Indian embassy, so although you apply for it online through VFS, the start date on the visa will only be after it is forwarded from VFS to the embassy and then processed.
