In a few months time holiday brochure will be released for summer 2012
With the Olympic games in London 2012, is this going to affect anyones holidays plans, do you go on holiday earlier than usual or stay and go to london for the games
I can forsee flight around trhis time being morte expensivr as the airline try to cash in on the lympic games, and people heading for london
I would love to be able to go to some of the events in the Olympics. Unfortunately, although the tickets are apparently reasonably priced, the accommodation prices are ridiculous. A work colleague has a friend whose one bedroom flat overlooks the main stadium . It will be rented out over the period of the games, at a price of just over £1000 a week
The olympic stadium is only 10/15 minutes from me and we will be heading out . I should imagine London will be in chaos over that time and I'd sooner go off on holiday while it's on . I have in my head it will be during August anyway .Is that right .
I live in London too. Maybe I should rent my house out and go away when it's on
Joe's thoughts about flight prices being higher are probably true, and it occurs to me that some airlines may reduce services at regional airports to get more European visitors into London. And not just airlines, it is already known that Eurostar and Southeastern Trains Hi-Speed services will be altered to suit the games (Stratford station on the HS1 route was specifically designed for this).
If I am not lucky I will be glued to the TV whenever athletics is showing
