kids are now very excited as their mask/snorkels/beach shoes arrived.
Problem is snorkelling from the beach has still not been officially lifted and so is not allowed from the Sultan Gardens yet :(

Have arranged my guide for Cairo and Luxor. Bought the flights for the former but need to do it for the latter yet.... :cheers

I also have in mind to do:
-a seascope trip for the kids (well and this big kid too :cheers )
-A desert stargazing trip which my daughter and I are REALLY looking forward too :tup
-(an evening trip out to Old Market +/- Naama Bay)
-And lastly to get a taxi and make a 1/2 day trip to St Catherine's to see the Monastery and the desert scenery on the way.
(and of course a couple of days doing sbsolutely nowt except lazing by the sea/snorkelling (hopefully!) and by the pools :D

So, questions:
1) Anyone done the St Cats trip? DId you use a hotel taxi or arrange one locally? How much I expect to pay?
2) I am planning to do it as a circuit - there via Dahab and back via El-Tur to maximise scenery viewing on the way (after Luxor/Cairo the youngest in particular will not be keen at all for any hikes in the desert I am sure!) - any comments or tips for this?
3) recommendations for nice stops on the way? Also including nice/clean stops for snacks and toilet etc
4) lunch - at at the monastery? what other good option?
5) The monastery and Hagar Musa - what else should be try to make a point of seeing there? (no climbing Mt Sinai with a 6 year old!)

6) any tips for companies to book the local trips (seascope and desert star-gazing) with?
