Thanks partyboy!
The picture was just what I was looking for. I read online they were changing it all shows you cannot trust everything you read.

I rather like what they have done, I do hope they don't adopt the horrible purple used on the website!

lol @ the purple used on the website. I actually quite like the new colour scheme. I must admit it did take a little time to sink in but it is slowly growing on me.

There is lots going on at Monarch at the moment. You may be interested to know they now have a Facebook site and a Twitter site where you can take advantage of unique discounts, get help and advice, provide feedback and take a look at what else is going on at the moment. Feel free to "like" them and follow them on the respective sites to take advantage of the offers. If is also a good way to get answers to any questions we are unable to answer here.

You will see on the Facebook site that Monarch are sponsoring the English Heritage Concerts at the moment. There are photos of the most recent event on the site. They have some pretty nifty marketing going on.

I can also tell you that there will soon big big changes over on the Cosmos website in the autumn. Cosmos is part of the Monarch Group. As well as offering their own choice of holidays they will also be soon be offering holidays from other operators. The person at the helm of the Monarch Group, Fabio Mantegazza, has also spoken in the travel press about Monarch co-operating with Air Europa, part of the spanish travel giant, Globalia. More changes to come at Monarch so watch this space...

One more thing to mention for people on here is that Monarch has also recently made changes to the food they provide onboard. It is now more of a coffee shop-style offering. Details can be found on the Monarch website. I have noticed however that it is not currently possible for people to pre-book this for those who book online through the Monarch Holidays, Cosmos or Avro websites . If you would like to add a meal on to your flight booking then you can do so by calling your travel agent / tour operator. However, this will be addressesd when the websites are changed in the autumn.

partyboy,
I suppose over time it will grow on me its just getting use to it.

They seem to be making a lot of changes I hope its for the better.

I am disappointed in the new meals I was looking forward to the traditional Monarch breakfast on my flight in August however I have been told its a Bacon Panini now my worst nightmare! They should at least provide say Sausage, Bacon a bit more selection for the people out there that don't like Bacon.

Thanks for the Facebook links I did not realise they were live on Facebook! I love the groovy chairs they were handing out wish you could buy them on board!

I was going to prebook meals on my flights in September as usual, but having seen the new offerings, I will be giving it a miss.

Don't knock it 'til you've tried it. To be fair, I've not actually seen it for myself yet. I'm told the inbound meal is quite nice though

If you don't like it though then please feed this back to Monarch ;) You can do this via e-mail or on the Facebook page if you wish.

I'm told there are changes to the window blinds on the repainted aircraft but I'm yet to see what this is. I'll keep an eye out.

z.j.c,

You know we need flight numbers! Is it the ZB682/3? It's an A321-200.

I have booked a holiday for July through coop travel/cosmos and paid extra for in flight meals. Does this mean I have paid £48 (£12 each) for 4 bacon butties!!!

Dazbo,
Sorry I was posting on my mobile in a rush I thought with it being the only early morning Monarch flight it wouldn't cause too much confusion but yes thats the ones.
Thanks
I hope its a new repainted one :)

Debbilou,
If you are flying Monarch then in a sense Yes but don't forget theres the free drink and the other aperitifs that are included with the meal.

Plus I would assume the £48 is for both ways so £12 but £6 outbound £6 inbound. When you break it down it doesn't seem as steep a payment.

You have got a point, I suppose the price isn't that bad after all. I just feel a little cheated not having the full brekkie (maybe I'm just greedy!) :rofl

Debbilou,
I know how you feel I am gutted they have changed it! I loved the Monarch Breakfast!

What is the new menu for premium like? I am flying from Gatwick to Orlando so my flight is about 9am outbound and 4pm inbound.

What aircraft registration wise is operating the thursday SSH flight from MAN and could you let me know what the previous flight it is doing is, as i would like to keep track of that one to see if it is delayed which could led to a knock on delay to MON1286.

thanks.
Reply
razza923,

I won't know the registration until the daybefore as it could change between now and then. The aircraft is operating to Paphos (ZB634/5) tomorrow so I'll know then.

blodders, the change in menu mentioned above only applies to ZB (scheduled) flights. As your flight will be a MON (charter) flight then there is no change to the planned menu. However, I can tell you the main meal will consist of a choice of the following:

O/B
Chicken Café Au Lait Or Beef with Caramelised Onion Gravy
Veg Option - Farfalini with Tomatoes and Olives

I/B
Beef Fillet Tails in Red Currant Sauce Or Chicken with Mango Salsa
Veg option - Channa Masala

I don't recall the exact details of the rest of the meal but it is generally accompanied by a starter and desert, cheese and crackers a bread roll and your choice of tea or coffee.

Your breakfast meal both ways will still be a cooked breakfast as standard with a cereal bar, fresh orange juice, a croissant with jam and butter served with a choice of tea or coffee.
