leejw86,

As Darren pointed out, the MAN-SSH service will be on an A321-200. Some of Monarch's A321's are going to have additional fuel tanks fitted so that they can do this fairly long journey to Egypt.

You may also be interested to know, along with everybody else travelling with Monarch on or after 15 November that they will be moving to Terminal 2. The full story can be found on the Monarch Website.

Monarch airlines must be the worst airlines for delays. Our last holiday we had a 6 hour delay outbound and a 4 hour delay on the return journey. The time before we travelled with them we had a 3 hour delay in both directions. It is highly unlike y we will ever fly with them again. Has anyone else experienced the same problems.

THIS is an interesting and informative website which show the punctuality of airlines and can even break them down to specific airports.

Hi there - we're flying LGW-ACE on 10th Nov - returning 17th Nov - have booked extra legroom seats at the front of the A/C..

Are these flights both operated by an A300-600?

Thanks for your help in advance,

LGW-ACE-LGW (ZB238/9?) are indeed operated by an Airbus A300B4-605R. You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

Thanks for your help

Just curious - on the outbound seat selection, the front cabin seems to be in a 2-4-2 layout, is this the correct configuration for the A300 on this route.. e.g. is it a separate cabin as all the seating plans I can find only show 3-3-3 configurations.

Thanks again,

Matt

matte14,

2-4-2 would suggest an A300-200 but it's showing and an AB6 on my screen.

EDIT: I've just double checked, I'd looked at 17th for your outbound rather than the 10th and it is an A332 out and AB6 in.

Thanks for your help Darren!

I did think this seemed to be 2 differing A/C types

topofthetower,

MAN-ALC (ZB682) is operated by an Airbus A321-200. Seating is personal preference. There aren't any 'best' seats. They all offer the same basic facilities (other than the extra legrrom seats) so it's whatever you prefer really. All I would say it avoid rows near to the toilets.

Hi everyone, I am flying to goa in feb'12 on the dreaded Monarch flight MON 6382 and have managed to secure extra legroom seats at a price for our party of five adults. Does anybody know what are the best seats to try and go for (comfort wise) as we cannot actually get seat number confirmation until check in at the desk apparently. Thanks.

we have sat in rows 4,3 and 1 - no issues with any of them. Row 1 was my preference as obviously there was nobody in front who may have lowered their seat into your 'space'.

We once had the misfortune to book extra legroom seats, I think it was around row 11 on a Monach flight. The row was next to the emergency exit and it had only 2 seats either side of the aisle - not sure of the plane type. Darren will sure to know.

Fantastic legroom - the longest we had ever (apart from upstairs on a Virgin 747) however, they were great if you are Twiggy but anyone with a normal size bum had problems ! We moved to other premium seats as they were most uncomfortable we have sat in.

Prettypollycat,

I don't have the information to hand at the moment, but with the looks of it, it positions in to operate the flight earlier in the afternoon.
