I booked a hotel only deal with Lowcost holidays back in June of this year (travelling in Jan '12)
They have just informed me that due to a "Interface updating problem" my hotel is no longer available and they have offered me an alternative!
The alternative is miles outside the area I wanted and down graded to a 3* (my original hotel was a 4*), needless to say - I'm not happy!!
I checked their website and entered the same dates for my original hotel and guess what, is it still available!! I phoned the company today to try and rectify, spoke to a very nice person actually, lowcost holiday advisor did not know what interface updating problem meant!!
they could offer me 4* accommodation, but to pay the difference of £500 plus - I simply do not understand - does anybody know what that term means and where do I go from here,
to add further insult, they did offer me £35 compensation and would waver any cancellation fees if I indeed cancelled - this cannot be right - what can I do!!
I have travelled 3 times with lowcost hols and this is the first problem - hopefully I can get it corrected
Agree with fwh, take the refund and book elsewhere
Having said that, as they are not going to charge a cancellation fee, I would take the money and book elswhere. They are not offering you like for like so I would reseach other providers.
