Discussions regarding holidays in Tunisia.
I read recently(cant remember where) that Thomas Cook have increased their dimensions for hand luggage.
I have travelled with them 2 -3 times a year for the last and my holdall is bigger than their dimensions and I have never been stopped.
I also put my over the shoulder bag under my cardigan, just in case they ask me to put it in my holdall.
I still cant get over the fact TC gave me an extra 20kg luggage last March to enable me to take things for the Red Cross, despite being on a Thomson holiday. :tup

It's very good news if TC have increased their hand luggage size - I'll certainly check that out for next time. As you say Jean, they certainly came up trumps with the extra luggage allowance for the Tunisian Red Crescent.

Following Aslemma's comment re hand luggage on Thomas Cook, I had a look today. It says it mustn't exceed 43cm x 28cm x 23cm in size or 5kg in weight. My bag is slightly taller than that at 45cm because of the handle and it's been on Thomsons, EasyJet and Monarch with no problems so I'm hoping TC won't get funny about 2cms.

Alternatively, I could just go out and buy another one as I do fancy a change and this is a good reason (ie excuse) for me to give to my husband :rofl

I'm thoroughly p****d off! I'm off to Sousse on Wednesday, with my arm in a plaster cast, and have been checking the weather forecast avidly. It now appears that during my two weeks I can expect about 4 days of sun and a lot more of rain and cloud. As I can't get a mac over the plaster and will have difficulty coping with an umbrella it seems likely I will spend most of the time in the hotel. I must remember to pack enough books. :sulk

Can't you get one of those waterproof covers for casts that kids get so they can go in the pool?

I'm sure you can Luci but it's more to do with me getting wet than the plaster as I am very limited as to what I can get on and what I can actually carry.

can you not get a waterproof poncho lightwieght and fold up easily i know decathlon do them for a £10 if there is one near you

There's not really any time left now to look round as I'm going on Wednesday and still have quite a bit to do, including sorting out what clothes I can actually get on, as well as packing. I'm sure I'll manage to survive but it certainly won't be the holiday I wanted.

Oh poor you :( Fingers crossed that the weather is not as bad as you expect! Maybe you will get a nice young toyboy to look after you :rofl

Weather forcasts have been known to be wrong, this time next week you could be already sporting a lovely suntan (with one white arm) after being stretched out on your sunbed for the previous five days.
Enjoy your holiday.

Thanks Judith. I must admit the forecast seems to change every day so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I very much hope HT will still be here when I return, in which case I'll certainly report back. If it's not I'd just like to say a big thank you to all the friends I've made on here over the years. :ghug

I see we will both be in Tunisia at the same time, 11-25th April. If you have time it would be good to meet for coffee and a chat. I am staying at the El Mouradi, Skanes tel 73521919, if you do find time please, give me a call; or if you find you need an extra hand with anything, I would be delighted to oblige.

The weather forecast I've just looked at is predicting 13 glorious days of sun and only one of rain. We'll see...
