i contacted southall travel before i left the UK and they said all was good and that it was all rumours about Kingfisher lol..bollox!
on my arrival in the UK i switched my phone on and checked my emails and lo and behold there was one from Southall from 5th March stating that Kingfisher was re-sheduling flights and that it was urgent i contact the airline before leaving Goa on the 11th March.
Thanks Billy ,at least thats a little more re-assuring - were the flights full? there must be a lot of people in our position who have pre-booked months ago, so are kind of stuck!! - I checked again and its going to cost me £175per person to cancel, and for 5 of us i just cannot afford it, also flights over easter now are really expensive.
the outbound flight from heathrow had loads of empty seats but the flight to Goa was full as was both return flights.
if you booked through an agent you will be covered by ABTA so if it goes belly up you will get alternative flights.
personaly i think you will be fine
Cheers will keep my fingers crossed, Southall Travel are telling me that even tho they are ATOL protected, Kingfisher are not?!! - hopefully it won't be put to the test - come on all you billionaires out there! invest in KFA
if the Indian banks and government unfreeze KF assets there wont be any problems.
BA suspends code share with Kingfisher
British Airways has suspended its code sharing agreement with India's Kingfisher airlines.
The suspension of the code share agreement with Kingfisher came into effect on 9 March, British Airways said in a statement.
Kingfisher Airlines is "undergoing a financial restructure," said Christopher Fordyce, regional commercial manager for south Asia at British Airways, without elaborating the reason for the suspension.
Cash-strapped Kingfisher said it will cut back its overseas flights as it looks to cut costs and attract funding from investors.
The airline has already asked the Indian government to relax rules on foreign ownership to pave the way for a potential rescue package.

On another travel website "Kingfisher aircraft impounded at Heathrow,BA cancelled agreement with them because of late payments "
Kingfisher Airlines cuts international operations:
Yes they are having major problems, aircraft are not grounded at LHR, they have cancelled some flights due to pilots not turning up for work.
The way things are going I will be suprised if they are at LHR after 10th April,
But just let you know that my friend came form goa to mumbai all ok , but mumbai to LHR no flight as no pilot !! She was put onto BA flight
God only knows if there will be flight when she returns home to Goa in April....just got to take it day by day, they are trying everything to stay afloat but the Indian Gov are not making it easy at all
Good Luck to all of you

Kingfisher are going to try and save whatever they have and run a skeleton domestic service.
Thanks for all the info! - all this uncertainty is driving me crazy, India press reported Vijay Mallya as saying yesterday that they will have a rescue package in 3 days!?! - but hasn't he been promising new investment in KFA since Nov? - oh well I will know soon enough I guess.
Oh great! - I just read that KFA are cancelling all UK flights except to Delhi? anyone know if that's true? - i have asked Southall travel who I booked with and they don;t seem to be aware. But the heathrow flight to Mumbai tonight is not showing as being scheduled! - so maybe its correct, if so i am gutted

Nigelfoxy ... it may not help you, but I see there is a topic in our Holiday Complaints forum about Southall Travel being unable to help one of their customers whose Kingfisher flight had been cancelled:
Enter your PNR and name , you will be able to check the status of your flight
My friend is goin LHR to Goa on 5th April and she has been re routed thru Delhi
Also I do know that Kingfisher flights came into LHR ok today
Hope this helps you
Thanks David and Stef!- I only wish Southall were as helpful - they promised to call me back this PM but heard nothing. Just checked Kingfisher and put one of our PNR numbers in. Its showing only the internal flight Mumbai-Goa so I reckon LHR-Mumbai is cancelled - nice to be told eh - god knows where I stand now!!??
I think you will find that Southall travel have to book you onto another airline, if no joy then call Kingfisher direct
Following on from those earlier media reports, these updates suggest that a meeting tomorrow may be significant:
