we have booked meals so would assume we will be sat towards the front

Not necassarily, you can be seated anywhere and have a meal. Cabin crew will have a list of those who have booked meals so they can be served to whatever seats it's been requested at. As vicjayhay, for peace of mind, there's prebooked seating but children shouldn't be split from parents. There's no guarantee though.

Hi Darren ,

We are flying to Turkey on 4th July (Manchester to Adnan Menderes ) . Our flight number is TCX 2684 .
We did the same destination last year and flew on a Scandinavian A330 . Can you tell me which type of aircraft is allocated for this years trip .

Many thanks :)

I don't have the full summer schedule as yet. MAN-ADB-MAN (TCX2684/5) are operated by an Airbus A320-200 currently. I'll know more from May.

Hi there. Have just the other day booked my seats Man-Cun TCX A33O and was just wanting to know if we have booked fairly decent seats. We always booked the Premium Cabin when flying longhaul and will miss them this year. We are a party of 9, 6ad and 3ch and have booked seats at the back of the plane - 3x2seats and 1x3 seat. Any info greatly received!! :)

Seating is very much personal preference. There are no 'best' seats. What one person likes, another may not. The seats you have booked are fine, as good as any others.

Could you tell me the type of aircraft I am on please. Outbound 30th Sept Aberdeen - Reus - when booked flight was shown as BD 7775 now showing as TCX 8122
Return 14th Oct Reus - Aberdeen - when booked flight was shown as BD7776 now showing as TCX 8123
With the flight number changing does this mean we are now on a Thomas Cook plane or are Thomas Cook using a British Midland flight?

I look forward to hearing from you.

*chris*,

If your flight numbers have changed to TCX, you're now on a Thomas Cook flight. I haven't got TCX8122/3 showing on my list as it's likely changed since I got it. Expect one of the narrow bodied aircraft though, Airbus A320-200 or Boeing 757-200.

Thanks for your reply. I've clicked through to the choose your seats section on flythomascook which shows a plane with 30 rows of seats so I think it will be A320-200.

That's what I would have expected from Aberdeen. Further details are on our What Aircraft? guide (link beow).

I am flying a tcx 152/tcx 153 glasgow - Cancun on 16th July 2012.

I am unsure as to what seats i should book on the plane, I am 6 foot 4 so was looking at booking extra leg room but i am aware i cant book the premium class seats on way out and would therefore need to take one of the normal extra leg room seats at £40 per person. What row would i be best to book for extra leg room and what happens regarding the in flight entertainment as it obviously cant be seat back entertainment.

Thanks

mcassidy3,

Seating is personal preference really. Extra legroom seating is at extra charge and subject to availability so act fast as there are only a small number of extra legroom seats. These are located at bulkhead and exit rows, as well as the former premium cabin. Refer to the seating plans linked from our What Aircraft? guide (link below) for locations. IFE screens fold out of the arm rest along with tray tables on bulkhead and exit rows. Arm rests are therefore fixed which also means the seat width is slighly less than standard seating.

petey,

LGW-HRG-LGW (assuming TCX1638/9?) should be operated by Boeing 757-200. TCX don't offer IFE on short haul flights. You'll find further information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below). Medical seats are available upon request.

Hi, just wondering if anyone has experience of using Thom Cook online check in at Birmingham. We have the option to check in online but would need to drop off baggage at the bag drop, so not sure whether it's worth it. I am tempted as we fly out midday on a Saturday and the last time we did this had to queue for an hour and a half to check in (not sure if that was the norm or a one off bad day as haven't flown from BHX on a Sat since). Is the queue for baggage drop likely to be any shorter?
