Are there any clear indications whether Egypt is included in European cover or do I need to upgrade my annual insurance to worldwide? Am I right in thinking that some insurers include it in European cover whilst others class it as worldwide. I have free European cover with my bank so would need to upgrade if needs be.
Thanks
i would give them a ring shirley just to be on the safe side

You are correct Shirley so I would give them a ring just to double check
Thanks both, I will get onto it
We were covered with boots for egypt ok
husband on statins from today, rang ETA insurance. ok for this holiday since we took annual out last year. If he is still on them will need another insurance company that will cover.
ETA will cover a pre-existing condition provided there has been no change in medications in the previous 12 months. They will cover a new condition for travel already booked before diagnosis.
Some companies are still classing Egypt and Tunisia as Europe while others have made them worldwide.
You should be able to check if they are included in your bank policy online. Which bank is it?
I phoned then today and told them I am on statins as Primary precaution care(Thats what the nurse told me ) and that my cholesterol hasnt been high.
She went through the medical questions again and when she asked if my cholesterol ever been raised I said no.
There was no extra charge but If I had answered yes I suspect I would have had to pay about £40.
The insurance companies should have questions specifically for preventative medicines.
My annual policy runs out in August so I will see what the renewal cost is and if it rises significantly I will well and truly have had my wings clipped.
Thanks all, I've checked on line and Egypt is covered on my policy
Good news Shirley, most companies are now including Egypt as part of European cover but it was best to check
just looked at Insurandgo, insurance covering statins £124 for a year for the two of us. Seems ok unless anyone knows anyone else who are recommended.
Last year I was insured with Direct insurance and it was only £75 and my husband who has took statins for a few years was insured with Multi trip .com and his was only £57.
I only changed companies because Insureandgo list Turkey,Tunisia and Egypt on their European policies.
bejay,
Just looking at L and V insurance. Seems a good price will cover husbands statins £78 for the year. Anyone had any dealings with them
I got the free insurance with Nationwide. I told them I was on statins and they charged £30 for the year to cover.
reading lots of insurance company reviews. Thought saga would be good, reviews were not good also insure and go. You don't know how good they are until you have to claim do you. Anyone recommend, its a minefield trying to get.
She reported that they were very good and recommended them.
