digitrac,
Some aircraft are covering at the moment due to aircraft maintenance and cabin refitting, things will settle down over the next week or two. Aircraft bases (763) for the summer are as follows;
MAN - 3 ex TOM, 2 ex FCA
LGW - 1 ex TOM, 2 ex FCA
EMA/BHX/GLA/NCL/BRS/EDI - 2x ex-FCA
I believe G-OBYG (ex-TOM, short haul) is covering for G-OOAN while it's away, followed by G-OOBM until the end of May.
Darren
I can see that 1 ex TOM 767 is based at LGW.Is this used on any particular route, or is it used on any of the 767 routes from LGW?
Regards,
It's covering
Tom044/5 HOG
Tom094/5 PUJ
Tom48/9 CUN
Tom12/3 SFB
Tom50/1 PUJ
Tom24/5 AUA
Tom22/3 CUN
This is only until the end of May and then it goes to ex Fca.
A few things:
1 Glad you had a good holiday.
2 Have now learnt that I can only select my seats 90 days prior to my return flight, either over the phone or on line
3 Thought of you the other week when the Dreamliner was on TV. I know you've been keeping an eye on it for a while
4 Liked your photos of the interiors of the plane. Don't some people leave a right old mess behind, despite the cabin constantly coming round collecting rubbish
5 Have learnt that the premium cabin only has tray table in the arm rests. My first thought - what the heck do you do when you want to get up to go to the loo and you've got a tray full of drinks and stuff!!
Keep up the good work Darren and all at Holiday Truths.

That's a very good point and one of the disadvantages of the fixed arm rests and folding out tray tables design. I suppose the easist way is to make sure you have a clean table as much as you can to eliminate the problem or give them to the person next to you!

It's amazing the state of the cabin after some flights. The cabin crew did offer to clean the seats before I took them though!

We'll try! Thanks
Darren
Seems FDZB is based at Bournemouth this week, oh well, another year without the Boeing Sky interior! (598 to AYT tomorrow if anyone knows any different!?).
i have booked seats together and they are seat 18 g and 18h,are they on a row of two or are we accross the aisle,
thanks Gill
MAN-RHO-MAN (TOM2332/3) are operated by Boeing 767-300/ER (short haul / winglets). You'll find extensive aircraft information including a seat map on our What Aircraft? guide (link below). Seats G/H are located on the starboard side (right) of the aircraft in a pair by the window.
Darren
Flying out to CUN next Thursday (10th May) from LGW (TOM028) and was wondering if anyone knew which of the 767's we'd get and what layout?
Also if you know for the return journey on 24th May that'd be great to
John
LGW-CUN-LGW (TOM028/9) are operated by former First Choice Boeing 767-300/ER. You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).
Darren
Thanks for that Darren. Do you know which reg is operating the route at the moment? Do you also happened know what TOM028 flys into LGW as so we can track its inbound progress?
It can be any of the fleet, it's too early to know as they're swapped and changed all the time. It makes little difference as the ex-FCA are all the same inside (V2) at the moment. G-OOAN, the V1 is in for maintenance at the moment. The flight prior should be LGW-Puerto Plata-LGW (TOM070/1).
Darren
Just to let you know BM has gone as well. I believe AN may be behind schedule
Is there any reason why I can't take a small knife in our suitcase. We are half board but want to take vegetable peeler and a small knife so I can prepare fruit e.t.c for the baby. Thanks in advance.
Standard hand luggage allowance is 5kg each. Details are on Thomsons website. You can take a small knife in your suitcase, but not in hand luggage. Be careful what sort of knife it is, don't go too mad!
Darren
Marlou - I'm not 100% but I'm sure that you can take a knife in your hold luggage. Thomson website clearly state 5kg cabin luggage per person, but I'm wondering as the baby has a 10kg cabin allowance, the total allowance for the 3 of you is still 15kgs, which is what you'd have had as 3 separate 5kgs
Right so I'll pack a small kitchen knife in the hold luggage then as that doesn't seem to pose a problem. We won't have much hand luggage for ourselves anyway as with a 6 month old I can't see any one of us reading or doing a cross word puzzle I'll pack the baby changing bag and put our travelling documents in that then problem solved. The less we have to carry the better Thanks Dazbo.
Marlou - 10kgs is a good weight for the baby's hand luggage. You'll get a lot of stuff into a cabin sized back pack which we have here. You will still be able to take another cabin sized case/bag onboard, which will hold quite a lot.
10Kg is the baby's hold luggage not cabin luggage helent.
Sorry- I thought a baby under 2 didn't have a hold luggage allowance!
