It's battery powered so no trailing flex. I'm lazy, and if there was dog hairs or bits on the floor it was a pain having to lug the old hoover out, plug it in etc then put it away again, so the Air Ram sounded ideal. Plus I loved the fact that it was so small compared to other hoovers which you could practically ride on! As I always struggled with somewhere to put the hoover once finished with it.
It actually reminds me of the old Ewbank carpet sweeper but with a motor. Anyway, it arrived a couple of weeks ago and I'm really pleased with it. We only have 1 carpet in the house at the moment as the rest of the floors are either tiled or wood. (Am getting a carpet fitted in the lounge tomorrow to cover the wood floor as we've had it years and I'm fed up with it). So it's only been used on the one bedroom carpet but it picked up lots of fluffy bits with ease that my old hoover used to struggle with. It's been great on the tiles and wood flooring too.
I especially like it as I can just press it on and go without all the aforementioned faff. There's no attachments to it but I didn't use them anyway. We live in a bungalow but I think it'd be even easier for a house as you could easily lift it upstairs, unfortunately you'd probably have to brush your stairs down as it doesn't have hose etc.
I was really impressed with the reviews too and so far I'm chuffed with it. My young niece did laugh mind you at my 'strange hoover' but she's never seen a carpet sweeper before only vacuum cleaners
