Flying with Jet2 at end of the month and have a quick query that someone may be able to answer.
3 weeks ago I entered the API (advance passenger information) details via the mange my bookings screen. Today when I "checked in online" while going through the online check in process noticed that one of the passengers year of birth was incorrect(details saved from API 3 weeks ago), I corrected the date of birth and continued to check in online. All details are now correct for the online check in and the boarding passes are printed out.
My question/query is will I need to ring up Jet 2 to inform them that one of the DOB's is incorrect on the API or will they already rectifiy it being I changed passport details during the online check in process? It will not allow me to amend the API as I assume I have already checked in.
you will be fine- you changed the API details before on line check in- i did exact same thing with my sons girlfriend put the wrong month in- I rectified before on line check in- and never gave it a second thought.

I never changed the API details before OCI i changed during the OCI process as it allowed me to do so. I did ring Jet2 just to confirm and they said that the API is actually finalised at the check in desk on the day of the flight, how they do this I dont know as we are already checked in online and do not (in theory) need to visit the check in desk. I ssume they gather the details from you OCI and forward them on to the Spanish Authorities.

Original booking let me choose premium economy, seats 5a/b- return 2a/b
I was checking prices and the seats came up as standard seats. I rang customer services and was told it was due to a change of aircraft,disappointed but fair do, Jet2 refunded the extra cost. I am now wondering which aircraft we will get.

One thing to mention, the seats aren't premium economy. They are just extra legroom. Don't be confused with what other airlines class as premium economy. NCL-ACE-NCL (LS545/6) are operated by Boeing 757-200, but an aircraft with a higher density configuration, not one with several extra legroom rows at the front.

Looking to book Jet2 flight from EMA to TFS as they are good value compared to Ryanair but at least with Ryanair i know that I will get enough legroom without having to upgrade.
I have seen many poor reports regardinng Jet2 legroom, do they typically use 757-200 on their Canary runs with higher density ? - do you know what kind of legroom they offer. Is there a published seating plan ?
I have also seen that they change planes, it would seem at the drop of a hat, hardly good customer service, especially if you have previously booked and paid for extra legroom and not get it when you turn up at the airport.
They seem to have 2 different seating plans for the 757-200 any idea how do they determine which config to use

I'll need flight numbers to give aircraft types on specific flights as they vary. Standard seat pitch is the same as on Ryanairs aircraft so regardless of the aircraft, standard seats offer the same. The only difference is the seat design with some of the Jet2 aircraft having the older seats with thicker foam reducing space slightly, but actual seat pitch is the same. Aircraft details including seat plans are linked from our what Aircraft? guide (link below). Aircraft changes are sometimes needed for operational reasons. If it's a case of a lengthy or delay or change of aircraft, what would you prefer? Slightly less room or half a day or more of your holiday lost? I know which I'd prefer! Configuration use is determined by demand for extra legoom seating on particular routes and to a certain extend, length of flight.

Thanks Darren. I know they always had them on the MAN-ACE route but haven't booked with them for a couple of years because of their flight times. I have booked with them to fly from BLA this year, and there was no extra legroom rows. I didn't think anything about it, and it was only when I read the conversation I checked the MAN route, and there doesn't seem to be any, even over the peak July/August school hols time. Pity if they have removed them, but if they need to remove them for economical reasons it makes sense.
Yes I knew they weren't premium economy as such, that's how they were referred to on another forum. The original seat plan showed about 8 or 9 rows of extra legroom seats at the front of the aircraft, which I then booked and paid £18+ each. It was only when I was checking prices a week or so later, that I noticed there was a change of seat plan. Shame it's not going to happen, although a little bit more comfort would have been nice, I have always been happy with Jet2's legroom.
I have to book flights for two people going to lanzarote with Jet2. They dont have debit cards so they are giving me the money to allow me to book for them. Does it matter that its a different person booking than what the two names will be on the passengers? Sorry if thats a stupid question but its just i dont want anything posted out to me or anything with their names etc.
Also another thing they are panicking about is online check in. I had said i would do this option for them and print out both their boarding passes for them. They are just panicked now about where to go when they get to airport as neither would have much of a clue. They wouldnt be comfortable with just dropping their bags off somewhere, do they still have an actual person taking their bags etc of them? and if they accidentally got stuck in the queue for airport check in would it matter a lot? They are going from belfast.

There is usually a bag drop desk at the airport and there is a sign over it showing which desk it is.
You take the bags and they are weighed and tagged, and passports are checked. If they get into the wrong queue I doubt it will be a problem.

Tell them not to worry about online check-in. If you do it for them so they have their boarding cards (make sure they keep them safe), baggage drop-off is well signposted at the airport. Just go to the Jet2 check-in area and it'll be on the screens above the desks. If in doubt, if they just follow everyone else, they'll not go far wrong as many use online check-in now. It'll all make sense when they get to the airport. Another thing, the boarding cards will be A4 sheets. Don't let them detatch the bottom portion, that will be done by gate staff and may invalidate the boarding card as both sections are needed.

i was wondering if anyone can help me. I did not book seats when I made my booking do I get to choose seats when I check in online and print my boarding pass? I Gather you can check in 28 days befiore your flights are due to depart is this correct ? TIA

You won't be able to choose your seats, the system will allocate your seats for you. If you are not happy with the ones allocated, cancel the check in and try again in a few days.
Ryanair and Easyjet allow you to take one piece of medical equipment, in my wifes case a CPAP machine needed for a critical sleep condition, in addition to one piece of hand luggage at no extra charge.
Jet2 allow one piece of hand luggage regardless of what it is - any extra hand luggage and you pay ! That's according to their Customer Services team who I have just spoken to.
UPDATE 1
I have just spoken to Jet2 again as I have found some small print on their website that talks about critical medical equipment carriage being considered, free of charge, on a case by case basis. They will let me know.
I guess with all these low cost airlines it's a case of swings and roundabouts and you takes your choice based on what suits your needs. I've used Jet2 in preference to both Ryanair and EasyJet in the past because of their much more generous approach to checked in baggage and also found their approach to passenger assistance much more passenger friendly than Ryanair ever was which is so appalling that I now refuse to use them on principle even when not travelling with my disabled mother. I suspect that you will find that in the end they will accommodate your wife's needs. They have been excellent with regards to anytime I needed to request special assistance for my mother.
I hope you are right about them accommodating our request, they haven't made it that easy for our request as I have had to do all the chasing and initially they said no and now they are referring it to another department when I highlighted their website small print !
I wait and see what the outcome is.
For us Ryanair were excellent with regard to he CPAP machine, I know they are not everyone's cup of tea but we still cant fault them. At the boarding gate they saw the waiver letter we had received from Ryanair Customer Services and that was it - on the plane we went !
Easyjet didn't really have a problem with my wife carrying the equipment and didnt say a word, no letter - just on we went !
Easyjet and Ryanair allow it - its nothing to do with the airport but Jet2 - but we SHOULD be able to put it in the hold free of charge if we ask at the checkin desk at the airport, hardly a positive reply.
This piece of equipment is critical medical equipment and yes we could put it in the hold but as we know 'you fly to Manchester and your suitcase goes to New York ! - so this is not an option as many others on this website will strongly agree.
My wife will take it on board as her only piece of hand luggage, ah well our first and last time using Jet2 and back to Ryanair and Easyjet.
