Sounds like Bodrum/Gumbet to me ;o)

Icmeler is beautiful but can be up to 2 hours transfers if you use the Travel companies coaches.
Private transfers take about 90 minutes.
We have also been to Gumbet and was looking forward to the short transfer but it took longer as we had to change coaches half way there and sat for over an hour in a dark car park waiting for other coaches .

wow that doesnt sound fun especially knowing the temperatures reported, its so hard to pick a decent place in turkey, weve been at it for 3 days now ,

wil checkout Gumbet, thanks for your help, would appreciate more suggestions on where is nice to go in turkey and specifically what hotel as the more i read some reviews on trip advisor the more we think a lot of them are fake!

I'm sure you would like Gumbet, it is not so busy in May so you wont find anywhere overcrowded. The beach is good and there is a waterpark nearby. You would also be close to Bodrum, just 10 minutes away by bus so you can go and explore or do some shopping.

If you get a private transfer it is only 45 minutes away, I have also been by coach a couple of times and have never had to change like Jay Trip did, it took about 1 hour.

If you think you would prefer something a little quieter than Gumbet you could try the next resort along, Bitez, that is more laid back with less lively bars and a really nice beach. It is only 5 minutes drive from Gumbet.
