Hisaronu is lively but without the beach element but it can be hilly especially if you stay in ovacik

We have only been to Turkey twice and stayed in Dalyan so I can't compare it directly to Marmaris however I can recommend it, very flat so good for anyone with mobility issues and there are plenty of restaurants / bars from the quiet to the jumping music karaoke style.

Dalyan is on a river so if beaches are required you have to take a water taxi or dolmus to it and is a lovely sandy beach when you get there.

Only thing I would say is there is nothing such as water parks or other similar activities if they are important to you.

Transfer from Dalaman is about 30 minutes so not a long transfer.

Have you considered Icmeler as its very flat and ideal for all ages. Its on a lovely scenic bay.
Its just along the coast from Marmaris but much quieter.
I have stayed in Kusadasi,Side ,Gumbet ,Olu Deniz, Calis beach as well as Marmaris and Icmeler and have found Icmeler to be the best.We have visited Alanya,Bodrum,Turgutreis,Hisaronu,Dalyan and Fethiye but still prefer Icmeler.

Thanks for the replies. We've been into both Dalyan & Icmeler when we have stayed in Marmaris but they aren't somewhere we would stay for as a holiday. It's looking like Marmararis again.....

Its probably best to stick to where you know and enjoy as if you went elsewhere you will only end up comparing it to Marmaris. :sun2

We always went to marmaris unroll we discovered hissaronu.it is easy to get around the dolmus runs till 2 am and taxies are cheap there is something for all age groups. You can stay in hissaronu but we prefer the quiet resort of ovaick.we have just returned after our 4 th visit and still find something different every yr.fethiye with its market harbour and town is only 10 minutes away and olu Deniz for the beach the same we love it there take a look any questions feel free to ask we always stay in private appartments as enjoy the freedom of eating out.

Gumbet isn't all hilly, if you stay along the front you don't have to go up any hills :)
