its our first time in jamaica so looking forward to it.just hope the weather improves a bit, they have been having a bit of rain according to people over there who have complained of cooler weather!! but i am sure it will be a whole lot warmer than here lol.

SNAP!! We went to Dom.Rep.last January,but we had very light showers nearly every day..but only for a few minutes,so they didn't spoil anything. This year in Jamaica we had heavy showers on two mornings and on the night before we left hotel staff were removing fences,gazebos,sunbeds etc.because storms and strong winds were due.It poured down!!But no damage was done(as far as I know). we had a lovely time and the weather was glorious. Back to our usual haunt (Goa)in a few weeks time.
I am sure you will love Jamaica, there were a couple of rain storms when I was there but it was over soon after it started, and were pretty spectacular to watch.
Millimeg Dom Rep is lovely went there approx 10 years (it's hard to remember one date of holiday isn't it). Never tried Goa, It's not somewhere that has drawn me and would be a little nervous travelling alone

i think i am following in both your footsteps round the world lol.
i loved Dominican Republic, i actually went there with a friend who used to live there years ago for a reunion. we spent 2 days with the reunion group from all over the world plus Dominicans, way off the tourist trail in Bonao and surrounding areas, i was lucky to see parts of Dominican Republic that probably only Dominican people would visit. it is such a beautiful country

Thanks jhe. Miss Pink,This will be our 14th trip to Goa (over many years) . We love the relaxed atmosphere,but also the hustle and bustle of it,the food is great,the people nice and most of all in it's favour...it is so cheap! That and surefire sunshine!!! Goa is also one of the very few places that I would consider going to on my own if I had to, of course you have to be sensible, but that's the same anywhere.

Sorry to intrude, but can I ask ... is Goa somewere to venture Sep/Oct period weather wise, also what are the standard of hotels like?
Hubby and I have been to Mexico the past 2 years, and have booked te Dom Rep for June, with the intention of going away again end of Sept/Oct period. Really fancied Jamaica, but hotels that appealed to me were out of our price range, so have started looking at Mexico again!

Hi Pat, Not intruding at all!! We have only been to Goa in Jan,Feb and March. However, I think the actual "tourist"season is October to April,but if you go into the Goa forum you will see that many do go out of season. Goa is nowhere near as clean as Dom.Rep. or Jamaica but it has a certain something that draws us back time and time again.
