We are staying at the Aquasol for 2 weeks at the end of april, does anyone know what the weather should be like and what is open that time of year, we went to the Aqualsol for christmas and new year 2003/4 and was very impressed witht the place on a whole, the enterainers was very good (Jon Paul, Yvonne and Suzanne) My 3 and 6 year old kids loved it. Are they all still there?
Any info would be appreciated.

i have been to majorca twice in april and both times the weather was excellent, but i dont know whether it was just good luck.most things were open even the shows, such as pirates.son amar, fantasia golf, marine land which is a must do..most clubs and bars.hope you have a good one..jon
when we went to the aquasol last xmas (2003) there was a new hotel being built next door to it, has this been completed and what is it like?

you can read reviews on this hotel on the link below
To be quite honest I had rather mixed views. The hotel was sold to
us as a family hotel but was full of "youth" who had apparently bought
up last minute deals. The hotel kids club some nights had only a couple
of kids and struggled to do activities. One family moved, another spent
money flying home and everybody had a tale about noise/loutish behavior. I would estimate that at the time we were there 80% were
"youth".
To balance this view. the Thomas Cook kids club was excellent. They
never always had large numbers but the three of them were top class
and i am happy to rate them super. The rooms are fine. The food
option is fine. The entertainment in the hotel at times was top notch but
at others poorly attented and therefore a bit flat, once again due to lack
of families.
The Cook reps told us that the nature of the hotel had changed at around
the time we arrived at the start of high season but perhaps more tellingly
had changed since the previous year. This may be due to selling policy
by the hotel/travel agent.
Palma Nova itself is fine, lovely beach. Decent selection of bars and food.
Plenty to do, 2 waterparks, 5 mins in a taxi or organised trip. Hotel
does trips as well as Cooks. I never went to Pirates but was well spoken about. Would not take younger kids to Cook's Wild West Night..bit of a rabble.
I did actually enjoy the holiday, and the kids thought it was wonderful,
but i would never go to the hotel again unless i got assurances that it was
guaranteed to be mostly families.
Can anyone please please let me know if they have stayed anywhere in magaluf/palma nova that had two bed apartments.
Thanks kerrie
We are a group of 19 women aged from 18-46yrs(on a hen weekend) and we will be staying at aquasol from 20th july to 23rd july, then 8 of us are staying on till 27th july.I went to magaluf last year and stayed at fiesta topico and was told you couldnt book without children but there still were young males and females obviously there for a totally different holiday to us,but to be honest it wasnt that bad,but when your a family you want the reassurance that your accomodation is was it says it is in the brochure, families only.
Im also interested in this hotel, as I am there on the 2nd May, can anyone help?
i have been to the aquasol before in june 2003,but i was wondering what its like now has anything changed? i am booked up for next year aug 2006 would haved loved to have gone this year but wife has just had a baby so will just have to wait i love majorca its the best place to go what does anyone else think[/b]
can i ask you a question, have you stayed there in peak season before, do you think its suitable for a family in august, not just the apts but the resort to as we are booking for july 06 2ad 1child 2
yes theaquasol will be fine in august thats when we are going too the resort will be busy but its still okay the aquasol is a family hotel anyway have you been before to palma nova?
Apartments like the Aquasol tend to say they are family apts but if they can fill their rooms they will take any booking. We are a group of 19 young women aged from 19-45years staying at Aquasol in july 05.
Be Warned !!!! Be VERY careful with the Aquasol. We booked a family holiday in July 2004 and were shocked to discover the majority of customers were "youth". There were not enough kids in the hotel on occasions for the clubs. Everybody had stories about drunks kicking up a noise in the middle of the night. Thomas Cook were apparently selling the holidays off on the cheap. If anybody is taking their family to this hotel in July/August I would demand assurances before travelling.
does anyone know what the aquasol will be like in the last week in june 1st week in july is more families or more youth and also how is the hotel with cockroches are they only on the ground floor or are they on all the floors also how much does it cost to hire a fan
My parents alas take kids with them in june time, it is kinda a family hotel howeva peak season 4 youths is july and august and you may get a bit of clashing there mid june prob latest ad go wi kids.
has anyone got anymore info on the aquasol who is it that takes the entertainment what are there names? what entertainment is there atnight now any one been recently
We went for a week in nov 04, we had a great time, rep was called Ash and avon was the entertainment rep. The bar staff/maids staff are really nice. My daughter was on her own and they really went out of there way to make her holiday.
is the apartments in aquasol pa;lma nova any good, we are thinking of booking 2weeks in 1 bed apartment. any help would be apreciated. julie,
We had a one bedroom, ground floor room, which was more than adequate for 2 adults and 2 children (kids in the bedroom, the wife and I in the lounge on the sofa beds). None of the rooms are very pushchair friendly, with steps leading everywhere!!
My only grumbles would be:
1. The tiling around the pool gets VERY slippery when wet. In the 7 days we were there I saw 4 people have nasty tumbles just taking the path from the apartment blocks, alongside the pool and into the main hotel building. Having young children, we used the beach every day as we deemed it safer.
2. The food served in the buffet, although of a good standard, is quite limited and repetitive. With the prices and choice of restaurants within walking distance, I would recommend self-catering. The best restaurants we found were EL Mecca (Out of hotel, turn right, 500 yards on left) and Florida (past El Mecca, 200 yards on right).
3. The little supermarket on site and the first supermarket you get to when walking toward Palma Nova are very expensive. I would recommend coming out of the hotel, going diagonally across the waste ground beside the hotel and using the blue signed "Caprabo" supermarket. This is used by locals and is more in line with UK (Tesco-like) prices.
4. The timing of the entertainment was 8-9.30 for the children and 9.30-12.00 for the adults. This is fine, but we have 2 young children who were knackered by 7.30 and slept from 8.00-6.00. This meant that we also needed early nights (to cope!!). However, having a room only 30 yards from the "Conservatory" housing the entertainment led to rather noisy evenings.
5. Nothing to do with the hotel, but the "scratchcard" salesmen around Palma Nova and Magaluf are most annoying. You are bound to win the "star prize" (at least 10 times during your holiday). The snag is you have to go with them there and then to claim your prize and spend 4 hours looking around a holiday exhibition whilst your prize never materialises!! The easiest way to get rid of then is to say "I've already won 4 star prizes this week and I don't want anymore!" before they can even start their patter.
I know this may seem a long list of grumbles, but I'm British so am good at finding the negatives! However, in summary, I would recommend the Aquasol as a base for your holiday and wouldn't hesitate to return.
