Atlantis Hotel, Belek.
-Destroyed luggage (Thomas Cook, not the Hotel)
-Needle sticking out of the carpet by youngest daughters bed and bed side draws full of rubbish when we arrived.
-Sounds of a saw-mill and hammering at 7:30-9:30am from the room above first morning (we arrived at 5:30 and could have done with some sleep...)
-Room service frequently did not arrive, probably due to Hotel staff's lack of English ("2 coffees to Room Three Three Oh Two please", "Two cup or one?", "Two please.", "Err, Sorry, what room?", "Three Three Oh Two please", "Three Three One Two, yes?", "No, Three Three Zero Two..", "Ah, Three Three Two Two..", "ARRGHH!!")
-Complaints to Rep met with change in attitude, false concern, promise to resolve the situation and get back to us - which never happened. When we next track her down her response is "Sorry, got to run, off to one of the other 5 hotels I look after" and never seen again!
-Complaints to Main Reception met with a shrug and couldn't give a monkeys attitude. Generally, staff were rude, ignorant and unhelpful. Rude and ignorant also applies to the majority of the guests, especially at meal times.
-Unclean coffee cups by the various coffee machines throughout the hotel.. multiple ring-marks left by previous users clearly visible on 50-75% off all cups, especially by the Lobby Bar.
-Food does not cater for children (unless chips is your childs staple diet) and the Italian a la carte made me wonder if the Chef even knew where Italy was let alone what it's national dishes were.
-Main Restaurant changed it's evening meal times the first day we were there but neglected to tell anyone or change the various printed material around the hotel until the day we were leaving.
-Transfer back to Airport ends up at the wrong terminal as the rep wasn't there, and neither the bus driver, the passengers, or the Hotel knew which terminal we were supposed to be leaving from.
This list would almost certainly be longer but for the fact we decided the second day that we were not going to spend any more time than was absolutely necessary in the Atlantis and had left the hotel by 10am every day and did not return until 5pm (Side is very nice but has expensive tourist prices, Manavgat is not all the rep claims it is, Antalya is much cheaper with plenty to see.)
In short, the Atlantis is a very bad advert for Turkey, which is a shame as once outside the Hotel the view of the mountains along the Antalya-Side road is stunning and the Turkish people generally very friendly.
Complaints are going to Thomas Cook, the Atlantis Hotel Manager, and the Limak that own the Hotel.
