mud baths

Hi

I have been about 3 times now  I had no choice cos each time there was someone new in my party  I agree with your comment about falling, my daughter fell heavily last year just as she walked over the wooden bridge  she was very lucky as she banged her back hard on the bridge, I was stood there thinking OMG, I hope she hasn't fractured it, she didn't but it was a close call, she did end up with stitches in her thumb though. So if anyone is going just watch the mud whilst walking.

I think you may well be right, dont know how healthy they really are.
I think its the kid in us all.
I do think that there is a real danger that someone could get badly hurt, it would not be so bad if there was some ropes are something that you could hang on to. When we were there saw one family, the little girl slipped over and the mother and father were pulled dowm.
Its easy to forget when you are laughing so much just how dangerous it can be. Please take care,

The baths are not cleaned, but then again they are natural. If they were cleaned they wouldn't be natural!!!

I also heard a rumour about this but was assured by my Turkish friends that this was untrue!! Who knows but I still think it is something you have to do!!!

have been to the mud baths twice. it can get a little slippery but the main problem i had was being bitten by large flies. has anyone got any suggestions how i can avoid this in may :?:

hi. to avoid being bitten get some sos (skin so soft) dry spray oil from avon, it really does work. i use it each time i go and dont get bothered.

Hi Gavin :)
Thats the little swines. My husband was bitten on his back and it bled for about 10 minutes. The bite I got on my leg didn't bleed for long but the area around it swelled up like a tennis ball so no sunning for a day or two until it went down. I hope sandra's suggestion works as I don't want a repeat this year

hiya flossy,

if you are buying avon's sss dry oil body spray make sure it is soft and fresh fragrance, dont think it will protect you in the mud bath though!

Does anyone know if you can do a separate trip from Marmaris to the mud baths, without going to turtle beach?

I think the whole tour is wrapped up together. if there is enough of you then charter a bus for the day and you can go when and where you want

A little tip for those doing the mud baths for the first time - take something to cover up with. You get taken on small boats up the river from the beach to the mud baths at a very leasurely pace and as its usually around lunchtime the sun is at its worse and necks and arms are liable to burning

another tip for the mud baths - don't try to walk barfoot from the tabled area to the mud bath - it is extremely slippy and we saw a poor woman slip backwards and crack her head really hard on the concrete

yes it is slippy, so take care, also   when you get changed behind the wicker screens everyone can see :yikes , but hey your on holiday so who care's you'll never see them again......until next year   :rofl... have a good time...Gavin 8)

Also not suitable for kids really. Our then 14yr old hated the smell last year and was boringly miserable, and our 5yr old kept slipping over!!
