There is a mention under the Capo Bay strand that there is building work taking place near to the Sunrise Beach in Protaras. Has anyone benn recently or do they know if this is causing any problems as we are due to go there mid July.

Sorry I made a mistake the work is nowhere near the Sunrise I got confused! They are actually building villas behind Cheers bar.
It is the back area between the Capo Bay and the Silver Sands,this was just waste ground so it will make the area look a little better.
Spoke to someone at the Capo Bay and he tells me that its not causing any trouble at all!!!!.....
Don't know about any building noise or how far along the villas are,I would presume that they are nearly finished.
Sorry to panic you ....

Thanks Keels thats put my mind at rest, didn't want to find out from the travel agents 2 weeks prior to departure that we would be staying in the midst of a building site, as this has all been booked for the last 12 months.

The one large site left in the centre of Protaras sits between Silver Sands Beach Hotel and Capo Bay Beach Hotel.

Currently three villas are being built. As I write they are finishing off tiling the roofs.

But this is only the beginning ......

Plans are currently being finalised for the rest of the site.

This will be shops with apartments facing the road, luxury villas facing the sea.

Originally it was to have been an underground night club, with a shopping centre and apartments. A great big hole was dug, but then it was back to the drawing board.

Since Cyprus joined the EU 1 May 2004, there has been a massive property boom in building villas and apartments.
