We are just about to book a weeks break ai at this hotel for 4 adults and 2 kids (aged 3 & 2).
does anyone have any info as to whether it is child friendly and what sort of entertainment they offer for kids.
we know the area as we are just back from there but the hotel was closed so could not gain access.
thanks

We don't have children but the ones that were there seemed to be having a great time.
There's a small childrens pool, a play room in the basement that had plastic slides and lots of toys, couldn't get a proper look as we were never in the hotel when it was open (had to pass it to get to the sauna). There is a childrens disco before the main entertainment every night and the kids learnt a song in Spanish.
The food was mainly a Spanish buffet but there was often chicken nuggets and chips. It was good and if I'd wanted British food I'd have stayed in Britain. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly.
The only problems we had were that noises (like shutting doors, footsteps etc) echoed along the corridors due to the concrete construction (like most hotels in Spain) and no air conditioning, but we did manage to go in the middle of a heat wave.
This is a cheap 3* AI hotel and you get what you pay for. We were very pleased with what we got for our money and would go again.
My 3 boys enjoyed themselves as the kids entertainment was good. The only downfall was some of the guests. There were a lot of people there who obviously only go on holiday to drink! Their kids were left to do what they wanted, mainly playing in the lifts and knocking on doors.
Most nights we were all woken by shouting, fighting and slamming doors. The hotel staff did nothing to help this. By the third day my 7 year old was crying to go home. The hotel seemed to be overflowing with rough families, that's probably what we should have expected for the price we paid.
On the good side though, the food was okay, and the entertainment staff were excellent.
I am thinking of staying here, what are the drinks in the all inclusive? Any decent brand or are they local?
The drinks were local only or you could pay extra for decent brands. The queues for the bar were massive and they only allowed one drink per person, so most of the night was spent waiting at the bar.
i just wanted 2 post on here to share my view on the hotel osiris. in my opinion, and the rest of my familys', the hotel was fantastic and offered a great, relaxing holiday . obviously, you have to allow for the odd rowdy couple. IT IS ALL INCLUSIVE, and people only want to make the most of it. 2 years ago, the entertainment staff were excellent (Chris, Becky and Taffy), there are lots of activities for children and teenagers, including beach volleyball, rounders, football and water polo. Althougher i have to admit, some of the food on offer is "unique" , on the whole, the food quality is great. the sleeping accommodation is cosy, and the balcony offers great views over callela and the beach. it must be great, because we are going back again this year. over the past 5 years, we have stayed in various hotels in callela, and although they all offered brilliant value for money, the hotel osiris was by far the best. if you are going to callela, you are bound to have a great holiday, but if you are staying in the hotel osiris, its going to be better.
Weather in October was OK but cold at night with some rain.
In October Callella was closing down and pretty quiet at night. Didnt matter, as kids wernt there and we could do as we pleased. White Horse is recommended and close by.
All in all couldnt complain about the Holiday but wouldnt choose to stay at the Osiris but thats us. Enjoy
hi just back from this hotel yesterday and for the money i thought it was ok appart for a bit of noise at night and the food lacked variety and quality.good points roof terrace <no kids allowed> i never had to wait long for a drink and they would give 2 drinks at a time rooms were basic but kept clean,if you get it for a good price you will enjoy it ,,,
There is also activities available for the adults during the day, such as killer darts and killer pool. Afternoon quizzes and water polo are also available. The nightime entertainment was varied, from magic shows to men v women challenges.
The drinks available are mainly local sprits and beer ( you will need to pay for certain drinks), the downside is that you are only allowed to order two drinks at a time. The food is ok, it gets very repetative, when i was nearing the end of my holiday we found ourselves eating out more often that not.
Overall it was a great holiday and a good hotel, Calella is a smashing resort, friendly to all ages. the White Horse and Gringo Joes are my recomendations (closest two to the hotel)
have booked flights for July, cant make up my mind between Osiris and Amaika, 2 adults 2 kids,6 & 4 year olds, which would be the better hotel.
Thanks.
Have a good holiday. I love Callella
thinking of booking for next year at osiris .i have 3 children ,3,9 +12. plus my hubby and my mum and dad .have been pricing it up for a/i and i think it is really cheap.is the place nice and what is the food like.my dad would want to know can you get a fry up every morning at the hotel
Just got back from the Calella in the Costa Brava , stayed at the hotel Osiris . I got a cheap package on teletext , so was not expecting to much .
All in all i had mixed feelings about this place . I thought the food for the price was great value and if anyone expected better are living in a dream world . Saying that tho the deserts were dire . The beer was good and staying on an all inclusive was not good for my all so ready bulging waste line .
The rooms were to say the least drab and dated , but like i said you gets what you pay for . The beds tho were comfy , but what are those 2 ft pillows about ? The noise at night was unbelievable , scooters screaming past with no baffle in the exhaust all night long . Plus the noise from inconsiderate guests making noises in the corridors till 4am , the flimsy doors don't help with the noise much . The walls are so thin i could even here next door fart in his sleep
The staff were a bit on the indifferent side and only spoke to us cos my wife was Italian and understood Spanish . Some were on the rude side . MR snack bar waiter im talking about you . I found the Spanish in general a bit ignorant . Don't they realise that tourists are their liefs blood and economy ?
Ok i know theres a lot of negatives in there but to be totally honest i had a great time . I made friends i got drunk and i eat well and got to read all of the devinci code , great book by the way . If your on a tight budget this place is ok . If your fussy and don't like noise then pay extra and stay well clear .
I made a thumbnail gallery on my web site , ill link only to the gallery of Calella

Hi Claire, Well I've never stayed at the Osiris, but have stopped at the Amaika twice in the last 6 months, and i'm sure you'll be pleased with the swap. I've put up a review, so have a look and if you've any questions, please feel free to ask.
the osiris(or whatever it is called this year) is being refurbished, which was overdue, and was a 3* hotel and i believe was still going to be this year.
the amaika is a 4*- hotel and has had good reviews.
like all h top hotels the food does get repetitive after a while, but it is still relatively cheap to eat out in calella.
you should have a good time.
You have so got a good deal, stayed in the Osiris last year and it was a dump everything was falling to bits.Went to the amika one night and it was really nice..you've had a good escape!
