Hello,
Can anyone tell me what kinds of shops there are in Cala'n Forcat please?
Are they just touristy type shops or are there any that sell Nao/Lladro and nice leather goods?
Thanks in advance
There is a small shopping center whcih I think do a few nice things. Better bet would be go Cuitadella for day or evening. Nice place to visit and many more good shops. If dont have a car easily reached by bus. Evenings are nice with a meal down by the harbour.
Most of the shops here are touristy - although you may find the odd one around that will sell better quality than others. You really are best to go to Cuitadella or Mahon. When we went there was a coach trip every Saturday morning which took you in to town - I can't remember but seem to think it was free - or very cheap anyway. We always hire a car and tour the island. There are so many beautiful places to go to and you will always find something nice.
Hi, we enjoyed a glorious two weeks and would like to recommend our favourite restaurants and bar to you all. Sa Caldereta and Haiti, both near the little roundabout in the centre, were excellent on the many occasions we ate there. Reasonably priced, good variety, excellent service - what more could we want? Most evenings, after our dinner, we wandered up to Molly Kavanaghs, the newly opened family run Irish bar next door to Burger King. We were given a truly genuine warm Irish welcome by Jenny, Peter and Sabrina. The "craic" and hospitality were great and Sabrina treated us to some Irish dancing! Check it out
i went 2 menorca with my dad and we spent most of our nights at molly kavangh's, jenny peter and sabrina are fantastic people and there family run bar is so welcoming. if you are staying anywhere near calan forcat goin there is a must!!

hi Amb we were stayed there Aug 2004 I can understand why your daughter is gutted the reps were brill, Sadly I cannot help you with a copy of the CD but search on here for Talayot appts there are loads of posts if you ask there I think you will have more luck, as most people who have posted there click the box to be notified when a reply is posted in that section.
where were these situated in the resort?
A great place to eat is Maxi's Bar. Beautiful sunsets, which you don't see if eating on the main street. during the day you can go and lay on sunbeds on the rocks. If you walk along the main road with the big arch behind you and pass all the shops and restaurants, the road forks, take the right hand fork, you would think you are going out of it but Maxis is on the right, just down a short path, there is a sign outside.
We never went to Maxi's though, will have to try this year if I can get a short break, which is proving difficult
"Their" posts have therefore been removed as they may have a commercial interest in the restaurants.
Maxies bar is behind the Los lentiscos complex, we were there last year and a couple of nights a week they have a singer performing and as a previous writer said it is one of the best places to sit and chill and watch the sun set. We also spent a few lazy evenings in the yuca bar just up the road.
Thanks , Dawn x
Could people give me a bit of advise on the following?
Is it expensive there?
Has somebody viseted allcudia from the island?
About how much money would I need?
many thanx if you can help.
No it is not expensive but then this can depend on view point. Drinks a little cheaper than the UK. Eating out can vary from being quite a bit cheaper to the same price as the UK depending on where you eat.
How much money does depend on your eating/drinking habits what trips you go on, how many presents you buy. I survive on £100 a day for a family of 4 ( 2 kids ), thats self catering but eating out all the time.Probably nearly half goes on the evening meal. Obviously if you cook in the appartments or at least buy bread and other bits for snacks during the day the you will save money.
Enjoy your holiday and dont worry about the flying, be there in 2 hours and it will be worth it.
Kind Regards
Stewart Wilkie
Flying is an up and down 2hr and 20 min job, no prob there.
Expensive,, not bad but it ain't cut-throat price slashing like say, Benidorm...still cheaper than UK though.
To be honest I found it a little too quiet, well my kids did, not that much to do.
the island itself is beautiful and the weather is excellent, there being a nice gentle breeze pretty much constantly.
We stayed at the Binimar apartments and although the entertainment staff (Airtours) did try to keep everyone happy, I found it a little too "Hi De Hi" for my liking.
Fortunately a short walk (3 mins) round the corner and there is the town itself with a reasonable amount of restaurants and bars etc. and a small water park.
All in all, very enjoyable, even if my kids kept complaining there was'nt enough to do....sigh
I reckon they have got too used to Benidorm, where as you probably know, all ages and tastes are catered for.
Fancy Fuerteventura myself next time.

Hi, does anyone have an e-mail address of taxi company based in Calan Forcat who we can book our return airport transfer with next year.
http://www.resorthoppa.com. If there are 3 or more, check the price for the private taxi as opposed to the shuttle as the taxi is per vehicle and the shuttle is per person.
I'm going on Friday and we've booked a private taxi through Post a Reply
