Hi there - can anyone heldp with any suggestions for a break for my elderly 82 year old parents . My mum can no longer walk very far but my dad is still very active . my dad usually goes on a saga holiday to spain leaving my mum at home but my mum fancies a holiday this year and my dad is recovering stomach cancer so I think his years of spain are gone for the time being. They are probably more suited to holiday camp type places and it needs to be somewhere flat. My dad really needs a holiday after what he has been through but with my mum now going its really is going to limit them does anyone have any ideas?

Would they maybe enjoy a coach tour, good way to see a few places and no worries I used to work for a coach tour firm the customers came back year after year, they could choose somewhere like the Lakes or Scotland for the scenery or somewhere like Bournemouth or the Isle of Wight regards G
thanks gill - yes I was thinking about that those coach tours go to some great locations now - but again I think the walking might be an issue . I think my dad would enjoy it though
Lyn my nan and grandad used to go to Eastbourne with Saga, towards the last holidays they went on before my grandad couldn't go away they found it ideal, stayed in guesthouses with accessible rooms, and apparently there were plenty of benches to sit down for a rest.
thanks for that wee kebab - Yes they did do a uk saga holiday a couple of years ago to bournemouth but they wer,nt keen. All those hills in bournemouth . Is Eastbournne flatter?
Hope your parents have a wonderful time where ever they go.
Warner do breaks just for adults at a variety of locations. Some are in stately homes and castles and others in chalet type accomodation near to the seaside resorts. There's plenty of entertainment onsite and you can find them here
Jersey sounds fun, 2 bonuses -
1. a short flight there makes it seem more like "abroad"!
2. because it's only a small island (5 miles by 9 miles) there's no long journeys but lots of different places to visit and things to see.
thanks everyone - im going to have a look at Jersey - maybe saga go there - and the warner breaks look good - ive ordered a brochure - they look quite suited to the more mature .
I'm sorry that our Admins haven't had time to visit this topic yet, as they must have lots of personal experience on the subject.
