Hi I mention "children" because I took mine age 6 and 3 so the same as yours. I didn't really want to add a review incase my experiences were due to beginning of the season. The hotel is very presentable and I was pleasantly surprised given the reviews that I had read.

We stayed in a superior room the only thing that made them "superior was the fact that we had sachets of shampoo and bathfoam left in the bathroom. They were still comfortable though and not to be complained about.

Kids entertainment was ok ish through the day is was water gymnastics, archery and arabic lessons obviously rotating through the week.

Kids swimming pool in my personal opinion was horrendous. The sheer size of it and depth. The actual pool was four foot deep but only two foot full with water. My three year old would simply not get in. On the first day it was filthy but after complaining it did get cleaned. There was no filtering system in it so it was dirty everyday, ( leaves etc blowing in ) It was also very shabby round the edges where tiles had fallen off and shabbily put back on. Also there is a pipe sticking out about a foot down on the inside watch the kids don't hurt their back. Can provide photo if you wish.

The main pool is very deep I'd say around 11 feet. At one side there used to be a poolside bar as the stools are still in the water. But at that side of the pool tiling etc is very shabby.

There was a few broken tiles around the pool area and maintenance men were replacing them throughout the day so there shouldn't be any by the time you get there.

Food was good and varied for dinner and evening meal the breakfast was the same every day,my six year old ate the same every day scrambled egg on toast. If your kids like cereal take your own as there's is far too sweet my kids wouldn't touch them.

There isn't a lot of choice for children at meal times 6 yr old ate pizza and chips mostly and 3yr old rice and potatoes.

Seem to have rambled now but please ask if you feel I have missed anything.

Jim , yes it's a good idea to take your own tea coffee if your wanting a cuppa in your room. Yes the superior rooms are all in one block.

If your travelling with thomson then definitely go on the "showstoppers" night out, it was brilliant. Other guests that were there went on the "Zulu expereince" and they said that was a brill night out aswell.

Night time entertainment in the hotel consisted of kids disco at 20.30, bingo at 21.00 then some sort of show at 21.30. If you see the snake charmer advertised GO he was brilliant.

Also take a pack of pencils for the lads who run evening entertainment because if you want to play bingo they haven't got any lol.
One day it was quite windy so we made use of the indoor pool, it was heated and like getting in a bath. My kids preferred the indoor pool, so the last few days it was round the outdoor pool in the morning to get a tan, afternoon indoor pool for the kids.

Also mainly aimed at Jim, if you've got any upto date music cd's take them with you because the dj's collection is very limited, and he will copy them.

Overall we had a good holiday, the hotel is nice and food was good apart from the kids selection.

There's a little guy who walks about the hotel throughout the day se him if you want to horse riding, quad biking horse and carriage trip.
If anybody does go horse riding make sure you tell them if you can ride or not, as luckily for me I can because they gave me a stallion that didn't like other horses, so if anyone knows horses you can imagine I had a fun two hours.
There is a well equipped gym upstairs if anyone fancies a workout. Also I would a advise anyone to go for a massage ( it's free remember ) You need to book in recepetion the day before. Not main reception but the one in the superior block. I was only there for seven days but went three times. The first time he's gentle but the more you go the better the massage.

The disco is open til 02.00 and drinks til them are still free and kids can stay in til that time aswell.
If you are a beach person I'm afraid there are no sunbeds just some folding wooden deckchairs.

I am trying to tell you as much as I can good or bad, I will be keep checking this forum today so mainly Jim if you've any last minute questions I wil try and answer them today.

Sorry forgot to say rooms have shower over bath, and yes they have fridges in them.

Don't go out buying milk, go to one of the bars and ask for a carton milk they will offer you a glass just say no and tell them for baby. That's what we did. Same with water for your kettle stock up from the bar.

There is a little playarea set aside the outdoor pool that kept my little one amused for a while.

I went to this hotel last year and had an amazing time. I couldn't see what some people were complaining about but am aware (as always) that different people have different standards.
Me and a friend are travelling from Manchester Airport in mid September and I was just wondering if someone who's been more recently than last July/August could update me on what the hotel is like and more so the entertainment staff because I remember certain people from last year.

Hi all,

I have been to the hotel two years in a row. Has there been any changes since last year? I am due to travel out in August. Is the entertainment still the same in the evening?

Please advise :

Hi all,

I am travelling to Les oranges in Aug 2005 with my family. Third year but first time since it went AI. Has much changed? I have heard some horrible things about being left til last to be served ect because you are AI. Are the other hotels still happy for you to go into their hotel?

Are there any new trips to go on or any that anyone has really enjoyed?

Hi Natalie, we are going next week to les orangers (sooo excited  ). I believe the whole hotel is AI so nobody gets preference, though this is only what I've picked up from these forums. Will post a review upon my return (june 15th)

we arrived back last night, having spent a fortnight there and have enjoyed every minute!! I'll try and post a formal review as soon as I can.

To put peoples minds at rest, the whole hotel operates on an AI basis. Food is self service/buffet format for breakfast, lunch and dinner, however for lunch and dinner waiters will get you drinks orders - may have to wait a few minutes top if a lot of people arrive at the same time.

staying at les oranger and just wana ask is there a safe for you to put your passports in etc.. how is the security there? can you leave your phone, watches etc in the room? .. any last tips.....much appriciated

There are 2 area's where they have safety deposit boxes - 1 in the main hotel behind the reception area, and the other in the Beach Resort.

I had to 'hire/purchase' the key from the currency exchange chappie, but was comfortable with leaving our passports, excess cash and other valuables in the box.

Enjoy your hols
