Hi, Welshoney,
Most of the men, last time I went did wear long trousers but I don,t know if this is compulsory or not!
There are safety deposit boxes but not in your room, they actually have a safety deposit room.
The sunbed situation can be a bit chaotic,my advise would be to get one early.
Are you going with children as the kids clubs are brilliant, also its well worth a walk to the village of Sahline, about 1/2 hr and the horse cart back. The kids love it
Does anyone know if the germans still have their own block? and their own bar?? we found this quite amusing, and popped over to 'their' bar on the last night for drinks - much to their dismay! (nothing against germnas mind you, i was born there!)

We have a little boy aged 6, i did ask about the kiddies club but didn't get much response, how long are they in there and are they encouraged to join in?
Thanks hun
Axx
yep going with three of our children, well I say children my two girls are 15 and 16 but then my youngest son who is 10, as long as the pool is great which it looks fab, they will be happy.
i wasn't looking forward to this holiday but after reading this,i feel a lot better
Is the swipe card system really that tedious and do you really have to sit with other couples when you are eating dinner - Not very romantic is it...! :
Please can you give me some information and also how far is the Acqua Palace water park from the hotel.
Many thanks,
Jodie
As far as i know it changes every season but on average its about 2/3 hours in the day and about 1 hour at night.Things like Pirate night and treasure hunting on the beach
We went in Oct for a week with 3 adults 2 teen 1 aged 6 going on 21 and 1 18 months...
The swipe cards can be a pain but they work well once you get use to them.....Tip on the way to the resturant you can buy for a £1.00 a chain to put them on and then you never lose them.
In the resturant you have the same table for the whole of you stay and the same waiter...diff one in the morning and night......
We found tipping on the first morning night ensured our drinks was on the table waiting for us......
Sun Beds - no more getting up at stupid hours to get your fav bed...on the first morning when you go down see the Sun bed man for a mattress and tip him and ask him to save your beds for you...and tell him where you want them.....I think we tipped about £5 a day but it is up to you how much........
Some staff dont smile but most of them do...and are really nice...we had a great time and the Jet Ski on the beach was one of the cheapest we had come across...............
If you want anymore info let me know......but you will have a great holiday and we would consider going back....
Burgessfamily..........
We did hear folk complaining about the food while we were there, but we had 3 kids, the youngest only 2, and they had no problems getting PLENTY to eat. There were no regular burgers/chicken nuggets/chips at dinner, but there was usually a choice of 4 or 5 meat dishes, a couple of veggie options, a pasta dish or two, etc. No need for anyone to starve.
The onsite entertainment was good quality - kids disco, family games, show, adult disco till late. Bar staff always friendly with us (hint: helps to be friendly in the first place - seen a lot of folk DEMANDING service right away). We gave the staff a decent tip on the first couple of nights, and we got a table reserved for us right in the front of the main outdoor stage every night for the rest of the holiday.
Seriously, I'd recommend this place to anyone who isn't expecting Spain...
We'd be back like a shot.
Thanks for your post, obviosly i take everyone's views into considerstion, but have found that peple who hate it are in the minority, i know everyone is different too, so not everyone going to like it.
But your post has cheered me up, after the couple of negative reviews
Hi, just returned from the sahara beach on the 5th of june, what a wondeful hotel. Immaculately clean, very friendly staff, rooms kept clean and tidy including petals on the bed, roses and kids beds made up the sheets like sails on a ship, made you feel like a special guest. The food was superb, even something the kids would like, although id like to have seen a bit more variety for them they never went hungry and their was always the pizzas by the pool. Entertainment was good, kids disco till about 9.30 then diffrent shows for everyone later, they were just opening the outdoor stage as we left which should cure the problem of not been able to get in as it gets very busy. Never saw any rats or anything like, couple og large flying beetles but thats all, and theirs a few cats roaming around in daytime. kids club for 6 year olds is 10 till 12 and 3 till 5. they take great care of them and will give you a nice break. plenty of games to play round the pool, which was also kept immaculatly clean. worst part we found was they only serve certain things at certain bars. If you go to the top pool you have to go right to the other end of the complex to get a pizza, then a diffrent bar for a drink and if you want an ice cream you have to go to the beach bar ( this is in A/I i must add) by the time you get back to your sun bed your food was cold, so make sure you suss out where the things are you will like by the pol and get a place early. Away from the hotel Tunisia is a bit hit or miss. When you travel through places it looks more like a war zone untill you get to the tourist sections. beware going to the medinas (old market places) they are after your money and will do anything for it, once you pint at something or even look at it they are on to you, beware. Enjoy a trip to the shaka, its a zoo with night entertainment, zulus and belly dancers, we loved it. the zoo in the hotel has a play area for youngsters and worth the couple of dinar to get in, but the zoo leaves a lot to be desired, the animals were not given big enough areas and were prowling cages bored, not nice. Also they have trips to see rugs being made, if you do not want to buy a rug i would suggest you dont go, they are gorgeous and cheap but you see how they make them in about 3 minuites then get the cold sell for about an hour, worth it if you want one as they will deliver to uk as well, but avoid if you dont want one, also dont buy things in the hotel shops straight away like gifts, their is a market that comes every friday, their more hard sell than the regular ones at the hotel , but you can get better prices. the are very poor and it shows, if you offered just a couple of dinar and then try to walk away they will take it, thy really do need anything they can get. All in all we had a wonderfull holiday and will gladly return again to this top rate hotel. Enjoy our holiday.
Ian,
amandajgee
I just read them, i'm not in the slightest bit worried now, i just want to go. A bit miffed t the weather but there is absoloutely nothing that can be done about that, and we're off for two weeks so i think there should be plenty sunshine at some point, i'm reckoning the storms will pass by the time we get there then it's gonna be a massive rise in temp!
Positive thinking!
have you got your tickets yet?
Axx
We are just looking at the threads out of curiosty, and to see if there are any handy hints.
So excited now, did you get any useful info from Ian?
Best holiday i have ever been on - weather was lovely very hot.
We only had one chillish day so we went to the animal park in the hotel - they give you a bag of breadcrumbs to feed the camel with. well worth the dinar to get in!
if your all inclusive in this hotel - i bet youll have the best holiday ever! (if your only after a relaxing beach holiday)
The only thing i could possibly have slightly complained about are the sellers on the beach - but to be honest they are only trying to make a living. and a polite no and they will soon leave you alone!
Just as a bit of info on the weather - I found a 15 day weather forecast and apparently by the 26th it is going to be in the 90s with clear skies no thunder so all is looking up - especially after this review from Gina that just came thru - looks like we were all worrying over nothing!
Anyway, would be nice to chat.
Take care
Jodie
You both have a lovely time, come back well relaxed, a few pounds heavier and tanned (with or without white bits ) and let us know all about it
We leave on the 26th for two weeks.
Ginag, thank you very much for your positive report.
i will defo post a report when i get back.
Thanks everyone
Axx
The queing system for drinks was a bit mad, but the tip is if you get chatting to people next to you, they will lend you their cards and that way you can get a couple of drinks, especially as we drink red wine...
Have a great time, i'm sure the weather will clear up, we had 5 bad days out of the 13 but still came back with a great tan....
