Could anyone tell me i am thinking of booking this hotel for next summer with first choice & would want a room for 2 adults & 2 children 7/13. Could you tell me what the rooms are like & if it will be too cramped with all of us in one room.
Thanks,
Nigel
I am typing this from the Barcelo.
The rooms will easily be large enough but the bed situation is one large double bed and one double sofa bed so I dont know if the kids of ages you have will be happy to share one double sofa bed, if not then you may need another room

hi nigel, have recently returned from the barcelo 2 adults 2 children age 7 and 10.......rooms are large enough....although could have been more staorage 4....we loved it so much are going to book for next year. have been to caleta de fuste 7 times now always say we have had enough but always go back ! going to pegasos palce in turkey in august but after reading the forum on this site thinking of returning o fuerteventura !! the entertainment area at the hotel barcelo is very luxurious, like a theatre/cinema, very modern smart hotel. go you will love it (previously known as tracyf, but have had trouble logging in ! )
I can't decide whether to take my usual dozen beach towels (slight exaggeration ) or just use the hotel service which would be great if they are a nice size.
Thanks
Marie
The towells are a good size and can be changed daily. You pay a deposit for each towell and can have as many as you want. Saves on the extra weight in the suitcase not taking your own too!
Can you wait until our return a fortnight later for the answer?
They're usually a decent size aren't they? They were up the road at the Elba Sara when we stayed there in April.
Thanks for the replies.
hi, the beach towels are bath sheet size (large) and are blue, can be changed daily, deposit of 10euros per towel, returned at the end of your holiday when you return your towels
thats great. more space in the suitcase
make sure you get down early
we had to go at 7 am to get a bed
italians seem to reserve beds at different angles of the sun
one cpl must have reserved 10 beds
let me know how you got on ??????
I live in Caleta and my parents are staying in Barcelo at the moment. We have had no problem whatsoever in getting sunbeds and the reception staff have said the hotel is full. We noramally head down to the pool around 11am.
and im pretty sure all towels were everywhere
mainly blue hotel towels
even some sunbeds stacked on top of each other!!!!
hi, we also stayed in block three (nice and quiet) and i must admit if we wanted beds with an umbrella then we had to go down about 7.30am, this was may half term, however there always seemed to be empty beds to be found....especially around the "cooler" pool................we loved the hotel and would definately go back.
we are looking at the Barcelo fuerteventura for next may and i was wondering if anyone could tell me how much it is to upgrade to all inc. at the hotel when you get there.
Also i have some reservations about how close to the airport Caleta is - i don't want to spend 2 weeks of our holiday listening to the planes fly over a couple of hundred feet above you - i get enough of that at home we live on a raf base! is the aircraft noise much of problem? or are we talking about a couple of planes a day? in which case i would'nt mind that so much.
thanks in advance i will be grateful for any advice or info anyone could give us about the Barcelo or Caleta itself
well worth it even for water / soft drinks all day.
The planes are no problem whatsoever, can hardly see/hear them, it wouldn't ever put me off going there.
Marie
how much is the AI upgrade for children per day? (2 year old and 5 year old)
Also what drinks do you get in the minbar? i read on the Barcelo website that you get free use of the minibar when you are all inc. can anyone shed some light on this!?
thanks again
Children 9 euros. The minibar is not included! There is a price list for that in your room. You can request any drinks you want to go in there and they will deliver them to your room - but you do have to pay for them.
And I've read somewhere we don't need to take beach towels as the Barcelo provide them for a deposit and you can change them as often as you like, is this true?
Also, obviously the World Cup will be on the time, wheres the best big screen to watch it and where is the main German hang out for a bit of friendly banter
Cheers,
Andy
You can hire big beach towels for 10 euros each at reception. Change them as often as you like during the holiday then get your 10 euros back at the end.
There aren't too may Germans around in Caleta, but you will find plenty of bars showing the football. There are a sprinkling of other nationalities so you should be able to get some banter.
Look forward to you posting up comments on your return - we are heading back there on 19th July.
