Wohoo! all excited, just starting to pack some stuff, i left a new post about towels but it's been moved! was wondering if i should take extra for the beach or if they're supplied as i don't want to take a case filled with just towels! gonna have to search for it.

I stayed in this hotel last september with my husband and two sons aged 5 and 13 months. I too had read the reviiews on this site and was really worried about what to expect. Admitedly, when we first arrived in the hotel we were not very impressed. It was past midnight and you arive into the main reception area which is in need of a re-vamp. Your next sight is the rooms, yes very basic and very small but inless you are planning to spend the holiday in the room then who cares. In the morning we looked around and were amazed at what there was. The pools are fabulus. The food was fine too. It was my husbands birthday so they made him a cake, decorated our tabal and sung happy birthday to him, It was lovely. The entertainement staff were brilliant, I was amazed at the standard of entertainment although you had to stay up after nine to see it! The hotel had its own zoo which was a lot better and bigger than you expect. We tipped the staff at the end of the holiday which they were happy about.

no tickets as yet got a day off thursday so going to ring the travel agents .

Don't thing towels are provided, got to take you own, which bulks up the weight, just going to put ours in hubbies case cos he has less clothes than me .

Welshoney, do you know if the E111 forms cover you for Tunisia!? i've just been looking on line and it doen't list the country! oh and i've just got a cracking deal on holiday insurance. let me know if you want the website.

They only cover you for Europe. You need private health insurance for Tunisia

I contacted the hotel and towels are needed for the beach as they have none to provide. The bath towels are quite small aparrently.

A week today i go- cant wait. Packing tonight!

I too can't wait, we fly out this Sunday and i am ready to burst, this is the longest week ever!!

The reviews for the hotel seem to be coming in great at the moment, i'm not in the least bit worried.

Just give me a sun lounger and a book!

Hey Amanda, Im pretty much all packed and ready to go! The hotel is apprently massive so probably wont even cross paths but i'll look out for you.l You'll spot us i'll be with the only american guy in the hotel! I've heard its mostly european guests that stay there really and my boyf is from the states.

Im gettin so excited wish we were going sunday we have an extra 3 days to wait after sunday. How long are you staying for? We'll be there for 11 days !

Anyway have a great trip and if i dont speak to you before you go have a safe journey and maybe see you by the pool!

If you guys are wanting to hook up, then just exchange names over the Pm thingy and ask at reception which room each of you are in! its always good to meet up with a fellow HT bod! (and i believe the phones when you call room to room are free, they were when i was last there but that was a few years ago!)

Hi everyone, i have just come back from the sahara beach and again had a fantastic time! The weather was great... tho i must admit it got a bit too hot for me, it was in the high 30's low 40's every day. We had the same waiter that we had last year and on saturday he took us to meet his family in the bedouin which was about 35 miles from the hotel, what an eye opener that was, but they made us feel very welcome. I am hoping to go back to the sahara beach in august this year.
I hope that anyone going there will love the place as much as i do, make sure you take plenty of lotion as its getting hotter everyday!!!

Just been to town to get some more sun cream a higher one, because it does look very hot.

What's the situation with sunbeds and umbrella's by the pool. Do you have to get up really early to secure some?
Also it seems that there is a problem queing for drinks, was it like that when you went?
And the food was it good?

Hi, for the first couple of days it wasnt too busy, so were able to get sunbeds by the pool quite easily, about 9am, but as the week went on it was gettin busier and as im an early bird i was putting my towels down about 7.30. The food was very good again, the only downfall with the drinks is that there is long queues as there is only a couple of bar staff working each bar, and one swipes the cards while the other pours the drinks! and you are only allowed 1 drink per person, which was a pain, apart from that everything was great!
p.s. If you tip the men who get the mattresses well i think they reserve your place by the pool as there were sunbeds by the pool with another laying on top with no towels, and the same group of people were there everyday!
