Ardwyn how was Samos?? we`ve only been to Rhodes either in may or july so can`t help with weather but places to visit are Lindos and Rhodes town (old part) which you can get a bus to if you don`t want to hire a car.
If you fancy a wander up the road to Pefkos there are a few good places to eat there such as Tsambikas or Georges to name but two

cant comment on your digs Ardwyn, but we went to Rhodes a few years back 2nd & 3rd weeks of september, the weather was fine( in the mid twentys) i would agree with Borismab you must visit Lindos and Rhodes old town (castle of st john,street of knights etc)
if you plan to hire a car you might want to have a look at the seven springs,Prasonisi & Kameiros

It was excellent and we will certainly be returning. Everything about the holiday was brilliant, we couldn't have asked for more. I am putting a few pages together, so will be expecting some input from you two when its up!
