Hello we are having a short break in the october school holidays at the vilanova campsite.
Could anyone give me any helpful information such as weather, cost of drinks meals etc in this area? I understand its not far from sitges.
Thanks.
Hi julues I have stopped at Vilanova campsite and enjoyed it. We were there last Sept the site is on the large side and has two good sized pools. The is a bus that goes from the camp gates to Vilanova town and ends up at the trtain station,( be carful if you go in the evening as the bus stops running at around 8.30pm and taxi,s are few and far between) We went to Sitges one day by train not sure if its the next stop on from Vilanova not to far anyway. Barcalona is about 25mins by train. Costs for food varied at the camp the restaurant was expensive but good food , The snackbar was always running out of food we found out why it was closing for the season on the Sunday we were there . In Vilanova town no english food but very reasonable snacks and beer/wine was not a rip off like it is in Salou. Lovely beach and very clean . May i ask who you have booked with as on the site the are many firms from Britain with lodges and caravans. Oh yes the Spanish invade the site at the weekend and boy do they know how to party Hope you have a great time i did .Cheers Dave
We are going on one of the £9.50 sun newspaper holidays, flying in to Barcelona airport.
Do you know by any chance the easiest way to get from the airport to the campsite? other than a taxi.
Hi julues Yea you can bus from the airport to Sans train station regular services .Then train from there to Vilanova then bus straight to the campsite about 3hrs travelling with the waiting time. What time is your flight our got into Barca around 10 pm but we had transfers. If your flights are late ones can you not arrange transfers with your tour operator as the campsite is a fair way out of Vilanova and awkward to get to in the evenings. But we had a great time at £400 including flights and transfer for 4 people we stayed in a second generation mobile home set in its own little piece os Spain 1* maybe but fantastic the campsite is 3* Hope you have a good time plese let us know how you get on. Do some checking for timetables on the net for your trains . Cheers Dave
Thanks Dave, We should arrive at Barcelona airport at 10.25 am on the monday.
