We stayed at the Adams beech hotel for our honeymoon, but i must say it is quiet.

Tasia Maris is closer to town but they'd still probably use a taxi both ways, the Adams beach is further out but nearer to Nissi Beach (nicer beach)... :?

Touch choice, go for best deal!

If I was lookin to stay in a hotel in Napa.... I would choose the 'Adams beach hotel'.... superb position.. right on nissi beach.... not that far away from the centre of Napa... but after visiting Napa last August for one night whilst we were staying in Protaras... I wouldn't even want to go in Napa centre at the night time... It was MAD!!!!! Full of idiots razzing round on scooters .. you were dodging them.... Would rather be at the Nissi Bay end... but.... we are off to Napa again in 5 weeks time... staying in the centre of Napa with it being October.. and it is just perfect then :) Can't wait!!! :)

Does anyone have more information regarding the seaweed problem on Nissi Beach? I have only seen photo's of clean sand but have had a post informing me that for the past Two year's slimy seaweed has been a problem. Thanks for that post Polar.

I don't know about Cyprus, but I've seen it on other Med islands. The problem seems to come after a storm at sea.

No problem really, it's never far to another beach.

We were there in October last and I had seen the reports before I went. Did not see any of note. As Parky has said it is after usually after a storm that the problem arises.

I think we had an example of this in 2003, although this only involved the sea, the beach was not affected at all. Between the Rondavel Bar (Napa end of the beach) and the island there was a huge area of green Algae/Seaweed starting about 10 foot into the sea and extending maybe 10 yards out to sea. It didn't smell or anything but was not very pleasant for swimming/paddling in, however it didn't extend all the way across the beach, only to about 2/3 of the way to the island and as I say it stopped after 10 yards so you could easily walk around it to deeper clear water (just a bit of a hike if you were at that end). As I say it just seemed to stay where it was all day, never washed ashore and was gone the following day. Didn't affect our enjoyment of the day.

I worked in Cyprus in 2004 and regularly visited Nissi Beach. I found there to be no seaweed problems until later on in the season. I really don't know why this was - there had certainly not been any storms (or bad weather of any kind). I would say I started noticing it maybe mid august/early september time and it was there everytime I went after that until end of oct. It was not on the beach at all, but was present in the sea. It was quite thin and slimy, but not enough to put me off going back!! As it is a bay, it just seemed to be there in clumps and not really move anywhere! We found it quite bizarre to be honest.
I have to say I liked Fig Tree Bay in Protaras better, but that is just personal preference. My favourite in the area though, is Konnos Bay - a small bay unknown by most tourists to the area, tends to be mainly locals there. It's at Cape Greco which is between Protaras and Ayia Napa.

Why not take a look at one of the the following hotels

http://www.adams.com.cy/

http://www.domehotel.com.cy/MAIN/default.aspx

They are situated in the Nissi Beach area. Both have childrens facilities and the Dome is a Thomas Cook Supersun property which usually have good facilities for children.

It's a nice area, the beach is gorgeous but you might find yourself getting taxis to the centre.
