Hi Sliema2,
Thanks for your reply.
Yes you're probably right mate, because I certainly remember buying bottles of Blue Label in the eighties and they were a small half pint size. My brother who was on one holiday with us during this time couldn't believe how cheap the beer was and I can remember that every time we went out he'd come back with armloads of small bottles of both Blue Label and Hopleaf. In fact we had to stay in for a couple of evenings just to drink out the contents of the fridge in the apartment, (for your interest I recall that this apartment was number 48 Kappara Court,- up the hill and beyond from Balluta Bay, which still exists but I think it has been bought by someone for permanant residency). We were regular visitors to the blue wooden shack that served drinks at Balluta Bay, and it's still there. Oh happy days!
Regarding the drinking of such quantities I reckon it certainly would be very possible and I might have entertained the idea when I was younger but I don't think I'd even try now, if you know what I mean! Regarding the amount I thought I read that 46 blues had been drunk but I may be wrong as like you my memory is probably also blurred. I guess I'll find out in August,

Hi ya its me, I to have had a few drops of the good stuff in this bar and have even been in little Tony's, but what I did notice on my last visit was that the Army and Navy cafe just up the road had shut down. I remember having a few good snacks in here it always seemed good value for money any body no what happened to it?
Hi Dave, I can find out for you but not for a couple of weeks, we are off to Italy tommorow so won't be in touch with our Maltese chums until we get back, then again I might sneak up to Milan whilst Mrs Sliema2 isn't looking and jump on a plane to Luqa for a couple of days .
