It is not only Cosmos that are transferring from Whispering Palms, but First Choice are as well and they are offering Victor Exotica. My preference would be Pheonix Park . It appears the management of Whipering Palms have decided to only offer all inclusive which I feel is not appropriate for Goa.
Re comments from Taffy 45 . We stayed over Christmas & New Year 2003/2004 at The Victor Exotica. We had nothing to complain about at all and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

I've read various reviews on this hotel and they seem in general to be varied.
Just wondered if someone who has gone can clear up the all inclusive drinks, I know it's 11am to 11pm, but what "local" alcohol is actually included within the all inclusive?
My girlfriends old fella also said that you can get suits made up pretty cheap over there. Anyone back this up, and if so can you suggest anywhere?
Thanks in advance
ps make sure you get one of the new rooms, as the old ones are grubby!
and you should be ok with the sevice in nov
I went there 2 years ago,i went b/b only,i think you can only go A/I now.i did not think much to the food there, make sure you get rooms to the right of the pool ,looking from reception,or in the new blocks, this hotel does a lot of double booking.saying all this we still had a good time at this hotel, just get the good rooms, there is some bad ones.
my friends are there right now, i got a text from them yesterday saying food good room good entertainment good lucky things are there for 3 weeks over christmas

The trouble with W.P. is that you 'sign' for everything, so, its not always apparent what you may be charged extra for. The one drink I remember being an expensive extra was 'Baileys' - it seems to be quite expensive all over Goa. Most of the cocktails displayed around the wall were chargeable, but, if you can get your hands on the 'secret list', there are quite a few cocktails on there too- as part of your all inclusive package.
As has been said, there are a number of rooms there not quite up to standard. There is a new block of better quality accommodation at W.P. but these are charged extra - your operator may have booked you into one of these, probably shown a 'superior' or similar on your paperwork. If not its £25 per night to upgrade. Dont use the money changing facility at the hotel, the rate will be better at the nearby 'Elephant Shop'- There's a money changing / internet place just outside the front door as well. The 'Mermaid' just across the road does a wonderful fillet steak (when you have had enough spicy food ;-)....
Could do with trying to get hold of this alcohol list before we go I know we won't be in there all the time drinking, but it's always nice to know whats actually included as you can no doubt go elsewhere if you were to pay for drinks and pay less.
Cheers as well djk with the comment about the steak, as to be honest I'm not into spicey food at all. The missus booked the trip on the basis that I'd be ok food wise in the hotel as it lists "continental", but I'm sure I'll be fine, well fingers crossed.
Suits vary in price, from £40 to about £100. Made to measure, three reasons for price difference:
1. type of material,
2. Quality of the suit and
3. How much the tailor has to pay your rep for recomending a particular tailor.
Take a walk turning left from WP and you will find lots of tailors on main road into Candolim.
We have used same one for 4 years, It is who you get used to.
Enjoy your time and just take things easy.
Come on then Sam don't tease, you've used the same one for the last 4 years...........No name? Must be good if you keep going back
