me and a group of my friends (all female) are looking for a holiday in malia...
weve been advised to stay in Stalis at some apartments named Dyktinna..
just wondering if anyone could rate this place?
how far to the central part of malia?
how was the hotel service etc etc?

i stayed in stalis last year and it is really nice. much, much nicer than malia during the day, as malia is a bit of a dump with not much to do!
the beach at stalis is loads nicer too
stalis is about a 5min taxi ride from malia, and it cost 7euros.
you'll have an awesome time whever you end up.

When we went to Malia in June 01 we stayed back in the old town. As much as we enjoyed the nightlife it was nice to go back for relaxing break to the hols! There are some fab little places to stay. We were in the Sokrates (spelling) through Kosmar (do not think they do anymore!) We had a huge studio apartment with 3 balconys and the pool area was fab! A great place to get away from it all!

Well I rarely take a taxi into Malia usually walk it, good walk though but lot quicker if you walk the main road.You could always walk the beach road and turn it into a pub crawl, bars all the way down and it'll break the walk trouble is, it'll take you all night and you'd be stoned before you got there.If I remember we were paying 5 euro when we did take a taxi doesn't sound a lot but I think it's a massive rip off when you spend roughly 4-5 mins max in the car.

Part agree with you Sabato not interested in drinking down the beach road I know some people who work down there every year and they'll serve the young drinkers anything it's cheap for a reason,but there's some great eating places in the old village so I do like to go into Malia usually 5,6 times over a fortnight.Have a mate who's got a bar on the high street and I like a few vodkas there, bar original it's called, anybody going over this summer pop in and say hello to Mandy.

Me and a group of mates are gonna be going there hopefully the 2nd and 3rd weeks of july! We're still looking at other places thou, but this ones my favourite, is it supposed to be a good one? We want somewhere that is close to the clubs and bars and beach, but not too noisy at night really?

basically its quite new and the studios are modern inside. Had a mate stay there and he said it was brilliant. Few mins from strip n not too far from beach to. Also has a good friendly atmosphere. There is usually a rep based there to(think from club 18-30) that can keep you posted with all the news on whats on straight away instead of you tryin to find one.
