It's a good family resort. Not a lot there though, but the beach is ideal if you have children.

There are a few restaurants in the resort, but if you want loads of nightlife, then this is not the resort for.

We stayed in a private apartment over the road from the cost caleta hotel in october, it was nearly complete, looked like the workmen were doing mostly cosmetic finishing touches to the complex. complex looks good size. its took long enough to build the hotel, the foundations were down and building underway when i lived in caleta in summer 2002, i'm sad but since then its been one of the things we've looked at on our return to caleta. I loved my time living over there and still have friends over there, only 7 weeks til i return. fingers very tightly crossed for another scorching january.

Enjoy your stay in the hotel and have a good venture to the restaurants in caleta of an evening and hire a car and do some exploring during the day.

according to the first choice web site, the costa caleta dorada looks very much like the caleta amarilla, subtle name change but the same hotel. If this is the case you will find many reviews on the hotel, I stayed there last Nov and had a great time. :D

Thanks to everyone for their replies. :D

The Costa Caleta Hotel is still not open, so that's why there are no reviews. My boyfriend's restaurant is next to the hotel. It must be opening soon though, as the sign is now lit up at night and they have been putting furniture into the rooms this week. It says it's a 3 star on the sign, and the builders have told me that it is nice, but there are no nice views as its surrounded in other buildings. The pool is on the roof! 8)

The hotel opened at the weekend. I had some clients in my excursion office on Monday who are staying there. They have said that it is beautiful, however there are several teething problems. For example they had no water the 1st day and no electric the 2nd.

out of interest Debbie, where is it in the resort ?
Reply
The hotel is just up from the Elba Jan Jorge Hotel, beside the Amuley Mar complex.
Reply
sorry don't know the amuley mar, is it near the Tahona gardens ?
Reply
tahona gardens? behind villa florida from memory, if so amuley mar is at the bottom of that road heading toward san jorge and the costa caleta is next to tindaya, the pink painted private complex, only about 100metres from tahona gardens
Reply
Thats correct diagonally across from Tindaya.

Hi!!!

I have recently been at Costa Caleta Hotel for a week, so I think I can help anybody who needs to know about it.

The reason many people doesn't know it exist is that it was inaugurated on november.

Let me know if I can be of any help.

Greetings

I'll try to tell you as much as I can, but as I don't know what you want to know, perhaps that's not enough, so feel free to ask anything.

It has a courtyard with 2 adults' swimming pools and 1 children's pool. One of the adults' pools has a slide and the other has a jacuzzi and some "fountains" where the water comes out heavily to massage you (can anybody tell me how this is called?)
The problem with these pools is that they are not very sunny so perhaps it's a better option to go to the roof where there are two jacuzzis, a small pool and plenty of sun.

There's a buffet restaurant, lobby bar, pool bar and entertainment program.
When I was there (8-15 december) there weren't many people at the hotel, so it was almost as a family and the entertainment was quite funny some days.
The food is good but we found it a little repetitive.

The rooms are spacious. They have two beds, a convertible sofa, two nightstands, a desk with a chair, a bench, a bathroom (with bathtub, wc, washbasin, hair drier and a big counter around the washbasin to put yor things). There is also a balcony with a plastic table and chairs and a clothes line.

The hotel also has a multi sports court with basketball, volleyball & football, gym, sauna, mini market and self service laundry but I'm not sure all those things are already open.

I think the hotel is very good for 3 stars. And if I have to highlight something is the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the whole hotel, it's ultra clean any time of the day or night.

I hope this helps you, but feel free to ask anything you want to know about Costa Caleta hotel and forgive me if my english is not very good

Yes, it's very nice and quiet.

There are rooms with pool view that I suppose are quieter. The other ones have the balcony onto a street where there is a building site. It's not very noisy, but if you like to sleep with the windows open perhaps some days you will have to close it at 7 in the morning if they are working in front of your room. Apart from that is a very quiet street.

The location is wonderful too. It's quiet if you want to sleep, but it's also near to lots of stores, bars, restaurants, beach.......

Are you planning to go soon?
