We stayed last Christmas and are returning this year for Christmas & New Year. The hotel issue a holiday programme giving details of activities and programme over the Christmas/New year period and details of the booking process for Christmas and New Year's Eve Gala Dinners, you book at public relations.
You can exchange money daily in the hotel, or at the airport.
Room location depend upon your preference, near the pool, near the main reception and most restaurants etc. We prefer a room on an upper floor on a corner (have visited 4 times previously and never had a bad room and never the same room!)
In the summer we flew First Choice, it is great, wish we were flying with them this time but sadly not!
When are you heading out, we fly 19th December.
Does anyone know whether Vegetarians will be okay in PDR?
We fly out on the 28th December for two weeks, thanks for your advice. I can't wait... Feels like forever waiting now.

Can you tell me how the people dressed up for the evenings?
Although there isn't a formal dress code for the buffet restaurant, most people wore long trousers/jeans and a shirt or smart t-shirts. Some wear shorts and more casual wear. The speciality restaurants are more formal are require long trousers. There's more info on the previous pages of this thread, see page 1.

My husband and I are attending a wedding in march and are staying at Paradisus Varadero and are just wondering what the hotel is like and could anyone recommend any excursions.
If its anything like their sister hotel, the Paradisus Rio De Oro in Guardalavaca, it'll be fantastic. I tried booking this hotel for March based on past experience with the PDRO, but it was too expensive at the time, I'm staying next door instead. Have a look at the
I am going to the Paradisus in March to get married (can't wait!!!). Was just wondering if anyone knows if the building works are still ongoing? I know that they were meant to finish in October 05 but someone went in Dec and said they were still there.
Any ideas when they are due to finish?
Thanks
We returned from the PRDO last Tuesday morning, building works on the spa are almost complete due to open before the end of the month. In any case they would not affect your holiday, the works you are probably talking about is the pool/snackbar improvements which were finished in October.
Have a great wedding it is a fabulous resort
i am keen to hear about the spa!!! We were married at the paradisus in Feb 04 and are returning at the end of march this year.
Where exactly is the spa located and what sort of treatments are they offering? Is there going to a gym?
Also has the Beach restaurant gone now?
sorry for all the questions, just cannot wait to return!
Thanks
jules x
The spa is along the track to the 3 small beaches, don't know exactly what treatments they will offer but they have built around 50 rooms there who will have first pick as I understand. There is an air conditioned gym as Reemberto from animation is going to work there.
The beach restaurant was still there on 2nd January when we left!
I didnt realise they were building rooms over by the spa aswell!
I imagined it was just going to be a facility for the rooms already on the resort!!
Sounds amazing!
I cannot wait, do yuo know if Osario aka george is still around from the animation team? also Raphael the concierge - works by the desk and drives the buggys about?
Many Many thanks

I'v just booked 14nights in the PRDO departing 01/july/06 for myself and my girlfriend and really looking forward to it!
Iv read all the posts i could find on here regarding the resort and hotel.
But as always i do have a few questions, if anyone can help?
I have already orderd a Points card, and would like to email my requests for rooms, resturants and anything else you can think of
Rooms: As iv booked the 'standard junior suite' which rooms are recomended? room 3428 still? with it now being summer 2006 are there any other/new rooms recomended? (i would prefer a 1st floor (top floor) room to avoid though's foot steps on the ceiling, close to the pool and beach)
i'll be booking the 'show table' in the japanese resturant for sure!
Is there anything else i should look into prebooking, or requesting and are there any additional charges for the items you may tell me about?
Also does anyone have information on the extras/trips and there aprox costs?
massarge etc...
Dolphins, havana, fishing etc...
Thanks for all your help and sorry about the 20 questions!
Thanks for any info, What a handy site!
Mark.

Osario and Raphael are both still there. Osario is doing every other night as DJ in the fun pub and still leading the dancing!
I'll obviously post when I get back (been on this forum ages - but usually lurk, I'm very shy you see ).
Mark - I'll answer all your queries by the end of Feb. I am busy at the mo looking at booking in the UK to visit Havana overnight, does anyone know which Hotel you stay at in Havana when you book it at the resort?
God knows how I'm going to get any work done this week
Miss-T Thankyou for that, i look forward to your replies!
Thanks for asking the questions re the rooms - I was going to do the same. We will be there same time as you, we arrive 29th June - can't wait!
We have a birthday celebration while we are there, can anyone advise which restaurant would be the best for that little bit of a celebration?
Thanks
Any of the speciality restaurants will make you feel very special if you let them know. They will make a birthday cake and probably give you a special table for the night.
I hope its a good holiday for both of us then!
Its my Birthday on June28th but, because my girlfriend's in uni, they were the closest dates i could get. I hope its a special day for the birthday boy or girl! If you spot me there feel free to say hello, i'll buy you a drink at the bar you cant beat all inclusive
